Hope you will like this video. I tried super hard to have something for everyone and hopefully you will find something here useful. If you are at a rank border, like say you are at Diamond 5, you would also need to look up the tips for masters to help you get over that barrier.

Speaking from personal experience of being decently intermediate in SF gameplay, it just feels like getting “Master” in SF6 is a badge of legitimacy like you’re actually very good at this game. Some people may think SF6 is a departure from Street Fighter, but there’s interesting callback aspects in 6 like a punish counter may allow your character to perform a traditional jab - strong - sweep combo bc of the frame advantage. It’s almost poetic how the game rewards your practicing and diligent improvement…and Existence help my sanity the day I break Legend 😋 Appreciate the tips by rank, always something new to learn in SF6 💯

Cool video! Speaking as a Master player myself (1600s on Marisa, crawling out of 1400s on Ken), I think another useful essential to learn (probably starting around mid-Platinum) would be punishes for a blocked/baited super or DP. People are doing panicked reversals constantly in Platinum. I also personally found understanding the corner RPS between strike/throw/shimmy was essential for me moving beyond Plat 1.

@@King_of_the_saclearn meaties in these ranks as well. It’s super easy and nobody below gold knows how to deal with it unless they’re just auto spamming wake up od dp. Shimmy is an easy thing to do against those wake up dp spammers too. I’m Plat now but that helped me a lot during my Bronze and Silver days.

Overall good video, although I'm a little surprised that the neutral game wasnt addressed more especially in higher master. One of the biggest differences between high mr players and 1600-1700 players is the neutral game and how well they can convert from it (and also mitigate or adapt their neutral gameplan), not just abusing the meta better. Speaking from experience, I can get ryu to 1700mr without optimal combos, meaty routes or denjin charges by just playing neutral and having a very basic understanding of how pressure and defense works.

Good info. And point on everyone's experience being different. Been training & watching good players w/my main for a long time til I could get online, then went 4-10 in placement to end up in Iron. 😐Got to gold in SF5. I've got combos for different situations. The mention of people not grabbing- well, I've never won vs Manon, & Gief can be rough. 😉 But I'll try to keep it simple & hope for the best. Watched to the end of gold, & hope to watch the rest later. Thanks.

For higher MR, you should mention how the mental game becomes increasingly important: conditioning, overloading opponent's mental stack, forcing RPS guesses in your favor, etc.

Everyone in 1500-1700 range only walk backwards, press buttons on reaction and DR mixup on knockdown, that's it, just make your gameplan around that.

Great video. I loved the sfv version of this video so I had to watch this one as soon as I saw it. Unfortunately, I am now hovering around 1700s so there isnt that many tips me in this video (suffering from success🙃) If you ever decide to make a higher level masters video I will eat that up. Trying to refine my gameplay and make it to 1900+ eventually Anyways keep up the good work🔥

I'm kinda stuck between 1800 and 1899 MR, I simply can't reach 1900. Every season, I get close but always not enough. I've to work my mental and emotional control, but I don't how improve that. In tournaments and ranked I get nervous and mess the things up, some times the same guy I just washed in Battle Hub, took me dozens of points later in Ranked.
@platinumwaiter4 ай бұрын
One way to combat it is by practicing so much that even when you're nervous you can still execute. You can practice by having low stakes matches and see where you get nervous and work on those situations specifically in training mode. Eventually you'll see situations enough that even in high pressure situations you know what to do intuitively. Mental game is tough to work on but there's resources out there too. There's a bunch of sports psychology videos on KZbin that I've found very helpful
@platinumwaiter4 ай бұрын
Point are meaningless too. All that matters is if you can perform in the moment. If you can get over that mental barrier I promise things get easier. Focus more on your execution in specific scenarios and the rest will come naturally

Nice video. I am one of those masters who are below 1500MR. Honestly, the biggest issue I have right now is that masters at 1500 or higher are all more experienced with FGs than me, so it is pretty much impossible to beat anyone who plays this game or other fighting games longer than you since you are a huge disadvantage. No matter how much I practice, I always end up losing. I did notice that Huntress did get really good at the game being coached by Nephew, so maybe this is the move?

I would say look into if your character has a regularly applyable safejump, Ed for example can safejump midscreen off of mp hp target combo into heavy blitz by using his j.hp it's too far to strike throw if they backrise but in high gold/platinum thats not a guarantee, and you're likely to catch a lot of people either crouch blocking or trying to DP you and you can end up looping your combo into safejump a lot until they learn to hold it which will help you climb quite a bit, I've seen several opponents really struggle against safejumps to realise they just have to standblock (or attempt to parry) on wakeup and they'll be fine. (Then at higher levels once opponents do start respecting your safejumps you can do empty jump low/throw mixups depending on if you think they will try to parry or delay tech against the safejump, but only do this once they have demonstrated they know how to handle a normal safejump dont start off on layer 3 when your opponent might be on layer 0 and try to DP you)

Tldr after platinum 3 SF6 is no longer a game but a job. If you are playing for fun after Plat 3 (at most) you should switch characters or even games. To put it into perspective what happens beyond that point is akin to memorizing pokemon types and weaknesses from pokedex. Switching characters is way more fun than keeping up the grind
