Is there a way to use your iPhone's video recording settings instead of the "zoomed in" non-4k recording settings QuickTime defaults into? Would love to take advantage of the 4k 30fps capabilities. Or should I be using another platform other than QuickTime?

Its too freeaking zoomed in quicktime to the point is ALMOST useless. I sure that i saw it not that zoomed before but it was imposible for me to replicate

Thank you for the explanation on video effects! I was very confused because Center Stage was on and I couldn't tell if this was a setting in OBS or what, but it was very disorienting.

They should enable continuity camera with iPad Pro so we don’t have weird angles when FaceTiming in landscape mode lol. It’s probably a pretty easy software update they could do.

I was using Camo to do this for the past few months and now I switched to continuity camera. Camo is better because it has more settings, but because continuity camera is free I decided to switch. I’ve been using it for 4 days and it works fine (Mac studio M1Max).

Camo is free too Bucky, in fact you can rid the watermark by adding your own new layout template, just new and blank....Camo is better, continuity audio is not even there..

@@OfficialFatLip Camo problem is the screen is always on, and the phone gets really hot sometimes, plus the screen and the battery will get worse faster. Continuity doesn't have this problem.

@@CyrilJap old phone joker, I use iPhone 13 Pro and 14 pro max now...nothing hot but a nice pu55y....near by....the real problem is Camo makes a mess with the audio of your iPhone which will not show up if you user it via continuity

@@OfficialFatLip It depends where you live. I'm in Japan where it's very hot in summer. iPhone 13 Pro and it got so hot that the phone turned off a couple of time in summer. Continuity is not perfect. I miss Camo settings sometimes.

I bought a phone stand, so it is really nice to use continuity camera now, for desk view. Helps to film sketchbooks, plans and synths.

I don’t think it is possible, but does anyone know if you can pick which camera is used? It would be cool to have a different focal length, depending on what I am doing. This is one of Camo's options, and I wish Apple would also allow us to choose.

Now we cant. Only switching to the centre stage will allow your camera to switch to the wide-angle one. but you make a good suggestion.

If you rotate your camera, it appears to switch to the 2x lens and zooms in to keep the 1920x1080 orientation, letterboxing you in a closeup. That is what happens with my iPhone XS anyway. I've also tried more than one continuity camera. Doesn't work. However, it will work wirelessly alongside a 2nd party remote camera app like Airbeam. Others such as EpocCam and OBS Camera are still waiting Ventura updates for wireless. It also doesn't work an an AD HOC connection.

I wish there were a way to override auto-exposure. I set up dramatic lighting and the Continuity Camera flattens it. It forces me to use flat frontal lighting, and balanced background value.

This is an awesome game-changer - love it. My only two 'wish list' items would be the ability to choose which lens you're shooting from... so to be able to force the wide or tele instead of ultra-wide, and then it would be killer to be able to set an overall exposure compensation like you can from within Apple's own camera app. I find letting the camera figure it out usually works 'fine' but can tend to over-expose my face. There's a few workarounds like changing the lighting levels in the background to trick the camera into under-exposing your face, but why not let us dial in a -0.7 overall exposure for example?

Is there a way to turn off mac notifications from continuity camera when your phone rings? It plays a notification on the mac and is not deterred by Do Not Disturb mode. Likewise, it did not make a different to turn off settings to accept calls in Facetime or the phone's settings to ring on other devices. Thanks!

Das iPhone auf hochkant drehen führt zu einem Zoom Effekt. Das Bild bleibt allerdings waagerecht dank schwarzer Balken. Die Qualität leidet etwas, "maximale" Qualität ist dann nur noch wie "hohe" Qualität. Dank für den Tipp geht an den User "Adam H. @@tralala8980 Iriun hat eine fantastische Bildqualität, läuft flüssig (per Kabel) und hat jede Menge Einstellungsmöglichkeiten. Ich habe alle Apps die ich finden konnte ausprobiert. Iriun ist für mich wirklich die Nr. 1! Nutze sie fast jeden Tag, in Zoom-Meetings, QuickTime und OBS. Der beste Tipp für alle Drittanbieter-Apps: Flugzeugmodus, Display-Helligkeit auf ganz dunkel und per Kabel nutzen. 🙂👍🏼

is this an iPhone 14 only feature. Mac Studio only detects iPhone 13 when physically connected with lightning/usb, and am never given option when starting video software as you state in setup section.

Well, it's June 29 2023 and this is still very glitchy with a Mac Mini M2. Even when not glitchy, why can't we zoom/crop? Change lenses? Yeesh. I pay for the Camo app and it's so much better (but lacks desk view, which I want). SIGH.

Turn the iPhone into portrait mode changes the camera mode into a strong zoomed in picture. But iOS crops the picture so stays keeps a landscape ratio.

One big problem is there's no way to turn off Center Stage with Continuity Camera if you want a fixed focal length. I don't always want this damn thing zooming and following me. I use it with OBS and I can't get the damn center stage to stop! The fact that Apple didn't account for this just shows how they are rushing shit out the door. You can disable it on OS X but not in iOS when Continuity Camera is on. Big usability issue Apple just didn't address.

LOL - if you just set the phone in a tripod on your desk the shot is going to look HORRIBLE. 1. Because of angle, 2. Because you’d have to use the wide angle camera which distorts facial features like crazy.
