Great video and really great series. I've followed it to build my first helmet and I've found this to be super helpful. One question I have for you, or anyone, is - in this configuration, what USB power bank are you using? Mine continue to turn off after a while. I've searched and found a few hacks but it seems that, for a USB-A power connector, there has to be something easy or a brand to buy that just works. Suggestions?

Great job. You mentioned the duplicolor 1K and I found there’s three different types. There is matte, gloss and pearl. I’m guessing you used either gloss or pearl. Which one was it? The link to your hardware and tools would not come up for me in Amazon so I’m not sure if you included them there.

ya know, you can find the fully closed position of the servo Before you install it. That eliminates that step.

I’m new here and before I dive into every video…. Which helmet file is that from? Having the pins she’s installed for the helmet has to be huge. I had to test everything on my mk85 and find the sweet spot for mine and it was tedious.

Nah, just the mechanic look (but who knows, maybe I will one day.) as for the files, the helmet was by Walsh 3D, and the boot and gauntlet was from the MK42 suit files by Johan3DPrintMaster

How do you make your magnetic mounts on your Iron Man MK 20 helmet?
@plentifulprops3d
@plentifulprops3d 9 ай бұрын
The one designed by Levy3D already had them, but the Do3D one needed mounts so I designed them in tinkerCAD (it’s just a cylinder the size of the magnet imprinted into an 3D object of your choice, and then fused in place after it’s printed and aligned correctly)

I understand the sanding - priming process but do you end with a coat of primer or on your finishing grit?
@plentifulprops3d
@plentifulprops3d 6 ай бұрын
Lately I’ve been applying multiple coats of primer before my last pass of wet sanding that way I get an even, consistent, and smooth surface without breaking into the layers of plastic or filler, and then I start the painting process :)

There is no need to buy plastic spoons. Why? Because you will have 200 failed prints in the same material as you are using. Thus you can test the entire project on identical material as you are using. Trust me, we all have 20 failed prints absolutely minimum for a small armour project. For a full suit, it's probably over a 1kg of print failures. Adhesion, clogs, imperfections, sizing issues and all sorts. I have a bucket full of random print parts that did not finish. Use these to test the process of smoothing, covering, sanding, priming sanding and painting and sanding and painting and sanding and painting and sanding and painting and sanding and painting.
@plentifulprops3d
@plentifulprops3d 6 ай бұрын
I totally see where you’re coming from and I’d be inclined to agree, but I would much rather test paints on a perfect surface rather than spend all that time sanding a failed print just so I can get to a smooth enough surface to test the paint.

What light did you use for the eyes?
@plentifulprops3d
@plentifulprops3d 9 ай бұрын
They’re called “cosplay LED eyes”, basically an LED shines into a piece of acrylic, and on one side of the acrylic there are white dots which the light diffuses off of. They work really well for making iron man helmets and anything else that requires seeing through lit-up eyes!:)
