Dig your shirt! We live near Morgantown and are diehard Mountaineer fans! We also have a 2012 Honda Crosstour and LOVE IT!!! It's a shame that they didn't continue to make this model! 139,000 miles on it and still runs like new! Keep up the good videos about the Crosstour! I learn something every time I watch!

Honda's GPS systems are the best in the industry! (IN MY OPINION!) I have a crosstour (my wife's car) and I drive a 2017 F150 with ALL bells and whistles. The Honda's GPS WAAAAAAAAAY outperforms my MUCH newer F150's GPS!!! I used to sell Honda cars. This is something fun to try. Talk to your GPS and tell it to route you to the nearest Honda dealership, it will in nearly NO time. Tell it to route you to the nearest TOYOTA dealership. When I was selling Honda's back in 2000, they would NOT route you anywhere BUT a Honda dealership when looking for dealerships. I could do a WHOLE video on JUST their GPS systems. You should do that, I don't have a KZbin channel!

Great video, one problem I ran into is the fuel door is stuck in lock position. Page 396 owner manual explains how to manually open it. I've would include a pic of the page but don't know how

Good day Abed. So keep in mind that the fuel door will only open when the doors are unlocked. Some people like to lock their doors for safety, while purchasing fuel, but that also locks the fuel door. Once you unlock your doors, your fuel door also unlocks and you simply push the fuel door to make it spring open.

Sounds like, somehow, your remote’s unlock button was being depressed in the sequence that opens all the windows. Accidentally sat on, something leaning on the fob or a child playing with the remote, etc…

Hi Ms K.K. and Happy New Year! I appreciate your question… If you have the one with Nav, the clock is set using the “SETUP” button to the right of the large ENTER knob. Once your screen is on the nav map, push setup and use the large “ENTER” knob to jump to the “Other” selection at the top right of the screen by flicking the enter knob quickly. Clock Adjustment is item #4 👍

Any idea what the 1 and 2 aswell as D3 gears do when driving the Honda crosstour?

Those lower gears just mean the auto tranny won't go above that gear. For example when you're in "2," it'll only use gears one and two. The only thing they're really useful for that I can see is driving down a mountain or something when you want the lower gear to hold your speed so your brakes don't get too hot. It’s also good to use 1 & 2 when driving in snow or mud. D3 allows your car to tap into your engine’s torque and you notice the RPMs rev up, propelling your car to a faster speed. I use D3 a lot when I want to pass vehicles and trucks on the highway. D3 is also excellent for city driving as well.

Any clue how to open the trunk utter than getting out and using the handle?

@@MrMCruso unfortunately, it’s the only way. There is a small panel inside the hatch area that you remove to access the white switch if the power fails, but the only way to open the hatch when all systems are working properly is getting out and using the handle. Just kinda got myself used to it after a while 🤷‍♂️

How do you turn off the head lights completely ? If I turn the lights off all the way it’s like I still have these dim yellowish lights that won’t turn off .. kinda sucks when I have to make quick stops to someone’s house.. or do they not turn off at all?

It’s best to leave them in the Auto selection. They operate perfectly in that setting. If you don’t like using Auto, you turn them off with two twists backward (towards you) to the Off setting. The stick shows Auto, then the parking lamp symbol (the dim orange light) then Off.

Hi! Actually there is not a trunk/hatch release inside the vehicle. You have to open it from the rear while outside the vehicle.

Good morning! Yes the way to brighten the backup cam screen is by using the button with this symbol… *️⃣🌛 You’ll see that just below the climate control buttons

I have a friend who's 2012 CT trunk is stuck and won't work with the button on the actual trunk and there's no trunk release button on the vehicle that I can see. How can I get to the actuator but the trunk won't open. I removed the plastic square and can't see the actuator

Aw man, that stinks. I’ve been there when the battery died in mine. So once you have the square removed, you’ll see a large white plastic piece. In that piece (to the right comer of it) there’s a small banana shaped opening with a tiny gold colored lever inside the banana shaped opening. Using a long flat tip screwdriver, push the gold lever to the right, I believe, and that will activate the mechanical release. I hope that helps, or gets you in the right direction 👊👍

Hello Jonathon. No I haven’t seen this particular issue yet. I’ve been fortunate that water has not leaked inside the rear hatch. I understand thats where the problem seems to start. Yours has this issue?

That’s terrible 😞 I believe Honda owners were filing a claim due to paint defects. Have you talked with a service advisor about potentially having it repainted under warranty?

@@xelawash I have not filed a claim, however my car is a rebuilt title so the company that rebuilt it is fixing the paint for free all over the car. Including panels that stock panels (that are now bubbling) that they didn't have to repaint when they originally rebuilt it. So the paint is bubbling in spots stock from the factory and in spots that got repainted when the car got rebuilt. I thought I was just unlucky that my paint was bubbling and peeling everywhere but it makes me feel better that I'm not alone with this issue

Blessed and Favored I like the smooth powerful engine and especially the ground clearance underneath the car. It’s been as solid of a Honda as any of my past Hondas. I now have 150000 miles on it and so far, it’s been very reliable with proper maintenance.

Hi GG, I tried to find a way to program the key fob to enable unlocking all 4 doors with only pushing the unlock button once, but haven’t found a way. It seems Honda feels it’s safer to only have the driver door open with one push and the other doors with a second push. It’s really annoying lol

Hi Marcia, believe it or not, as awesome as the Crosstour is, there’s only ONE way. The button under the H on the rear glass. SMH..there really should be a button on the fob and one more in the interior somewhere. When the battery goes dead, the only way to open the hatch is through a small little cover (inside, on the hatch door) there’s a small , white, plastic switch that’s hard to see. Push it and it’ll open the hatch.

@@nlove7373 I’m sorry..I don’t have a video, but yes, that’s the spot and the hatch has to be lifted while it’s opening, as it doesn’t have any power assist like those with a motorized hatch.

@@nlove7373 just the large tailgate opens. The smaller glass doesn’t open separately. It would be nice if it did.
