Tips & Tricks in After Effects: Smoke text expression

Do you like detectives, right? 🕵️‍♂️ Today we have a continuation of the text stroke theme. In this tip, we will show you a cool way to create a smoke! It will use a new, looped and chaotic expression:
freq = 2; delay = .02; loopTime = 4; myDelay = (-textIndex)*delay; t = (time - (inPoint + myDelay))%loopTime; noise1=noise(t/2*freq)*50; noise2=noise(t/2*freq-loopTime)*50; linear(t, 0, loopTime, noise1, noise2)

For those who don't understand the triangle shaped text layer in the solution part : - create a text layer - Fill it with underscores (manage to have a line by deleting the space between the characters) - rotate it by 90° so it become a vertical line - Then click on "Animate" > "Stroke width" ( on the text layer ) - In "advance" settings of the stroke width effect select "ramp down" so it become a triangle shape - Then follow the next steps in the video. :)

@@MarynaAntipova With the "character" panel of AE. make sure it's opened by clicking on "Window" > "Character". Then in the character panel it's the "V/A" tool. use it so the underscores go closer to each others until it creates a line

if you look carefully, there is a layer on top, named Top_shadow. That's a transparent-black gradient.
