Hoh. I like this. Random/fluctuating merchant prices is both weirdly realistic in fantasy settings and would be a good way to encourage getting money in a healthy, if slightly annoying to some, way. That's a great idea to implement in larger and longer projects! I'd avoid it in shorter ones myself. Not sure about more straightforward dungeon crawlers though. Like, I can see it being used inside dungeons, like if you ran across a wandering shopkeeper, but not in a hub town though. Or, vice versa, but not both. Hm... Lots to think about!
