I will be diagnosing my 2005 3500 sprinter today and I’ll let you know what is going on (past owner believes the valve needs replaced) neither ac or heat are working

so i was confused about your test. Is the problem that the heat gets stuck on? or is it that there is irregular heat and cold. My heater I cannot figure out. Sometimes it is really hot and other times it seems that it will not turn on, especially if I turn it down and then want to turn it up again.....thanks in advance.

I'm still fighting this issue in this van. It seemed to be fixed a couple times, then back to old tricks. We don't want the heat on often in Florida, and find this van usually heats when you want it too, but then the valve sticks on heat and won't turn off. Any time you turn the key off the vale does not have the 12v to keep the heat off, so restarting the van occasionally has the heat on with no obvious reason. Like boiling frogs, I don't notice as the van warms up and the heat slowly gets hot. Suddenly I'm sweating and turning it "off" when its not "on" becomes an aggravating try and wait. Of course, successfully snapping the valve only stops the hot water, so it takes a while to cool or realize it's not going to cool. I think the cheap valves I bought may be the problem???

My heat seems to work from the dash vents but no heat comes from the floor vents or from the vents by the base of the windshield. any ideas on that?

The center knob of your controls connects to some bicycle cables that push and pull on levers that get stuck. Those levers control where the air flows. Once the cables bend the knob does very little. I leave mine pointed straight up for the dash vents and defroster. Then turn off the front vents with the knob on each vent to get defrost working. Trying to get heat to the floor vents just isn't worth the trouble.

Do you have a similar test for AC controls? My AC doesn’t appear to be working.

The AP200 will show if the button is working, via live data in the HZR module. There is only one wire to the compressor. It is blue and should have 12v when "on".

@@FloridaVanMan if it’s off, does that mean my HVAC controller is bad and needs to be repaired ?
@FloridaVanMan3 жыл бұрын
@@chris3407 If you are not getting 12v to the blue wire, that only tells us the problem is somewhere before the compressor. If the snowflake light comes on, but the live data on the AP200 does not reflect the button being pushed, then I think the controller is bad and needs repaired. But, if the AP200 shows the button turn on/off and you still do not get 12v to the blue wire it could be low on freon, or a blown fuse.
