Hey, nice video, I've been suffering from this with my new rx6600xt card (literally a few days ownership) and the adrenelin software on both windows 10pro and the upgraded windows 11 pro. I tried your first option but it didn't show the roll-back driver option. But then after reading some other comments etc i realised that whenever i tried to download adrenelin again after eecieving the error message i decided to uninstall adrenelin and not reinstall it at all. So far so good after playing a couple of games and restarting my pc a couple of times as a little tester. Will update my comment if i experience any more issues over the coming days/weeks.

FIRST STEP, make sure you didn't opt in to the Insider Program when you first installed Windows. The Insider Program cumulative updates ignore most Windows Update settings as they are different packages, so steps in this video will not work. To fix, opt out and wait for a normal Windows Update to roll in. You may still receive Insider Program updates in the meantime which will cause the issue again. To avoid this, you can reinstall Windows and choose not to opt in to the Insider Program. Otherwise, just wait. If issues persist, referring back to this video should then work.

Opt seems to be disabled automatically when you have 'send extra diagnostic info' disabled in Windows 11. You can find these settings when searching for 'windows insider'.

Good video but here is one more tip if you see it happen just pause updates so it wont replace driver, then follow he's steps to disable Windows Driver Updates, i hope one day Microsoft will disable Windows Driver Updates and only run it if a driver is not installed and a user chooses to do so, and disables driver updates for anything already installed by user, quite silly Microsoft cannot do this oh well, maybe Microsoft employee will read this comment and think yeah lets do it that way give our users less headaches.

Which AMD Driver version should you be using if it's the correct one? Is it 23.Q1.1 or as it is shown in my Device Manager now (31.0.14037.17019)? I'm using duo monitors. The issue is that when coming back from sleep, either only 1 of my monitor works or both doesnt come back on. Just did the 2nd method today (telling windows update to not auto update 3rd party drivers). I have 2 monitor in my HP Z840 Workstation. Recently 1 monitor stopped working. I tested the 2 monitor alternatively connecting with each GPU. For one GPU, each monitor is not working. When the driver gets modified by Windows, my pc disables it and enables a secondary display adapter called "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" instead. I can't fix it My GPU was working then I saw a pending update on amd adrenaline software, I installed the update, it said it would replace the drivers. first of all, I've always seen this error when using older amd radeon drivers. but then I did a minimal upload instead of a full upload and it partially improved. i've switched to windows 11 now, and if I don't update the display of windows update, I can't even change the resolution.. but if I do, the AMD program crashes completely. what do you suggest I do?

Uninstall your GPU drivers completly You can use DDU display driver uninstaller www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html And start installing GPU drivers again , go to official website download and install it

​@@Tips2FixI tried this. Used DDU in safe mode, went to AMD website and downloaded the driver, same error. I also tried disabling Windows driver updates, windows update in general, still get the same error. I tried taking the card out, boot, shutdown, reinstall card- same error. I tried older drivers- same error. I tried using Avast Driver Updater. I tried the AMD cleanup utility. I even tried reinstalling windows and redoing all windows updates then the AMD drivers. Nothing is working.

@@K20WaVeZ not yet. I also tried making my system windows 11 compatible by disabling csm but that was a disaster- had to remove the motherboard battery to reset bios to get it turned back on lol still no gaming for me

Yep i have explained , you have to donwload drivers on official website, uninstall old rivers and install new , and use my methods to stop windows trying to update it again

Never fails. Mine is ALWAYS just a little bit different. No "manage here." LOL! Nothing new in my world I found display adapters, but you have Radeon Pro. I have Radeon RX 6700 XT. I assume yours is a different card, but same problem. I continued. I right click drivers. Select properties. click driver tab. "Roll back Driver" is ghosted. I have the error message. My monitor has been shutting off and on. but it's always something differnent in my world. 🤣

This is only when you alredy know that windows updated your gpu drivers , so i thing you dont have to do anything , usually windows replace AMD gpu oem drivers with their drivers and user like to go back

hello. is there a guide on how to do this on windows 10? here's my problem, i want to install amernine drivers, but the adrenalin thing doesn't even open up. my gpu has been burnt a little bit from overclocking (i know i should replace it, but money is scarce right now) can somebody help me please. edit: do i follow this guide all the way and do all the methods, and then look up a guide on how to install the amernine drivers? i tried installing them but ccc2 just stays stuck in the end of the installation. For reference I'm using an rx580 8gbs Armor

I sugest you uninstall your Adrenaline first completly remove all gpu drivers use AMD clean up utility driver www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-601 Than go back on AMD web donwload Windows 10 drivers Adrenaline or Pro Install it. Do the steps like im doing will be the same procedure like in w11

I have a very annoying problem, which is the black screen when opening a simulated game such as PUBG Mobile, and it happened in the last game of ours. When this annoying thing happens, the screen is completely black, but the computer is working normally and responds, and when I enter the computer via Any desk, a message appears with the content AMD Software: Adrenalin. Edition Warning Windows Update may have automatically replaced your AMD Graphics drive amd bug report tool. When the automatic driver update is turned off, the same thing happens, but with another message containing this problem: The amd program has detected a timeout for the driver on your system. I tried previous definitions, and each time I removed the definitions via ddu and also the amd cleanup utility, and the problem persisted. I own an Rx6600XT - i5 12400F.

I've tried everything with my RX480 and Windows has reinstalled basic drivers at least once a month for the past year. I even completely disabled automatic updates and it still does it. The odd thing is though, it never shows up in the update list or in the update history after it's been installed. It's like it's not even Windows Update the software that's doing it but it's definitely Windows doing it. It's the most frustrating thing and for some reason I swear it only happens while I'm playing a game.

I may have solved it by reinstalling without amd software. I think it's the software doing the update even though it points at windows update. @@kc-me6wl
