Usually people get offended over the music aspect. People will find any excuse. I've seen it every where. Gatekeepers: toxic tears isn't goth because she said she didn't like goth music. Me: she didn't say that she said she didn't listen to a lot and that was many years ago. Gatekeepers: yeah but shes still like that. Me: *shows proof that she's not* Gatekeepers: she likes baby pink. Badazzyte ‘’appropriate” goth is simply a music subculture that also adapted a vague and broad fashion and aesthetic spectrum of darkness/black, but that doesn’t mean its restricted to nor revolves around dark clothing. its always been about the music scene. theres goths that dont give a shit about any of the look, because the makeup and fashion isn’t what it’s actually about since nongoths use these looks very often. there is no exact origin besides a vast amounts of alternatives using it (or non) its just fucking makeup anyone can do themselves up in any way. it isnt owned by any one culture or group.

yall she isnt claiming to be emo or goth lol, she's saying that the makeup's inspired by goth and emo makeup looks. i dont think her goal was to use them as synonyms but to kinda describe the look better? when you say emo makeup, i think raccoon eyeliner and black lipstick, but when you say goth makeup, i think really intense winged eyeliner and overall tradgoth makeup. mixing the two kinda creates a different image, kinda like a more soft gothy-emo look, which is obviously what she was going for. i understand why she would mix the two. her makeup is beautiful and she's very talented and its kind of a shame people are only discussing her use of goth, emo, and egirl.

@@JasminMiettunen generally emo kids just kind of have heavy fringe and eyeliner, whereas goth folks may have a more sophisticated look, that can look either "spookier", usually some goth people make themselves paler, have weird eyebrows or try a bit more with makeup. goth people also just usually don't have emo hair LOL (sorry i'm just trying to think of an answer for this)

This look could literally easily go with nu goth for example. Not everyone has to be trad goth and do a specific makeup style yall. Goths dont have to use just black and white. Red, brown and some other dark colors are common in the subculture aswell.

@@ebisu4870 Yeah but just because it's in the "alternative spectrum" doesn't mean it's really goth or emo, it's more "e girl"(although I don't think they created it, the look is an amalgamation of harujuku makeup and current eye makeup trends) if anything and tbh a lot of non alternative people would wear this exact same look as so many people are taking from the "e-girl" look and loads of people love a warm neutral/red smokey eye. I didn't comment to just be a pedantic ass, the makeup look Alice made is still beautiful and I apologise if I caused offence.
