Tired Tarmac Restoration for around £100, DIY Quick & Easy Application (Not a Paint) "mr factotum"

How to DIY restore your tired tarmac and revive it like new. The product claims it adds life and seals and replaces lost resin, and as worked for me.
Preparation though is the Key, once prepared use this easy application of thermoplastic acrylic polymer coating / sealer / colourer.
Took me approx. 3 hours to treat 80 square metre, not including preparation work. Easy to apply with roller.

Well its worked for me, thanks for watching and commenting, Oh, how's the Lion coming on nigel, i've just got mine through its official boiler test 1 1/2 x PT and steam test, I will be uploading the event soon, just got to wait for our track to re open from C19 lockdown, mind you with this new delta variant raising its head i'm not holding my breath !!!!! take care mr f

@@MrFactotum Congratulations on getting your boiler through it's test, that's great! Lion is on a back burner for now, been very busy with projects for other people including helping a local company with some design and prototype building. Hopefully get back to Lion in 2-3 weeks. Cheers Nigel

Bloody hell Mr F, call that tarmac tired ? you should see mine !!! Looks imaculate and not a blade of grass out of place. Did you make your double hinge gates ? I made mine almost identical. Getting them square and level was one hell of a job.

hi rob, well it look tired, if you compare it with 15 years ago, thought i'd give it a treat, trouble is though i won't want to steam the loco on it now so may have to find a place round the back. The gates yes , again 15 years old, can't remember if i had trouble fitting them though, a lot of water has passed under the bridge since then, if you get my drift !!, see you next time, thanks for watching and stay safe !! regards mr f

That looks good. To be honest, your drive didn't look bad before though. How did it hold up?

hi Mark It's held up well and does seal the tarmac from water ingress i did have to patch some very small areas prior, i have forgot the name of the patching material off top of my head, but thats held well it will be 3 year this spring since i did it and it will need a recoat this coming year, due to car and caravan being parked on and of it. i wish i would have used the product 5 years prior to it requiring it, to keep the tamac sealed. .anyway i would recommend it and i will be using it again cheers Kev

What ho Mr F Call me perverse but i don't much like the look of fresh laid tarmac, like most of my existence im into faded elegance. But, I'm not keen on stained patches breaking up the symmetry either. Just call me hard to please.😯

hi there perverse !! Its swings and roundabouts chris, every surface has its + & - 's, which ever's your preference, weather, algae, moss, oil, petrol, etc,etc, gets to it. Your hard to please,!!! @@MrFactotum indeed i did and you did too.😂 Im back in the engineerium,when needed, and finally worked out the best way to cut female threads when not using full form inserts, which i don't because im too cheapskate to buy. Also im too mean to buy a 20x1.25 tap hence the need to screw cut. ATB c

Anyway why buy a tap when you've a machine to cut any thread you want. Maybe takes longer but its all part of the Engineerium hobby.
