@z Oh my God! You have no idea do you! It's none of your business who is or isn't anything based on features! My parent's were both brown with dark hair. They were enrolled with their Tribe. Me? Somewhere in my genetic background someone had red in their hair and green eye's! Boy was I a surprise to my parent's. And I was the child of my father, the man married to my mother. I have had to fight my whole life because of that stereotypical attitude. I can prove who I am. Can you? I am an enrolled indigenous woman with a family history we CAN prove. Stop playing a fool's game! You have the internet. Use it to learn something!

@Jane Marsee So we had war's. And that is your reason for invading another People's land. We obviously weren't THAT violent. Had we been we would have killed them. Instead, we fed and housed them. Good grief!
@marshamoore83855 жыл бұрын
@Jane Marsee Yeah, I was born on a Reservation. Was raised on a Reservation. I am First Nation's. 65 year's now. I think I know our culture pretty well. Do you have a degree in Anthropology? Cultural Anthropology? Lived on any Reservations lately. I know exactly what happened to the originals. You still run with we fought with each other. Yeah we did. But so did European's! Some of the worst atrocities were perpetrated in "advanced" cultures. The inquisition's, I am Holier than Thou! Therefore I must torture and murder you! I have a very good education! I was a cop in the Army. Got out and became a Sheriff's Deputy. Retired from that and went to college. Became a councelor for domestic violence victims. Retired from that, went back to college. I am a professional Photographer. My own boss, I work when I want. I have earned that right. I know exactly who and what my people were and are. You sound like a nice person. So am I! But, I really hate it when non Natives presume to know more than the Natives themselves. Are you aware that the forced relocations of entire Tribes haven't really been that long ago. And the government is still declaring some Tribes extinct when they haven't even checked to see? That is here and now! I'm sorry, take a course or class to learn about our indigenous peoples. But don't claim you know more about us than we do.
@marshamoore83855 жыл бұрын
@Jane Marsee Well I don't pat myself on the back. But, even though you and I both know Columbus wasn't the first, he wasn't white either. And now they know that most of the crew's weren't either. We had to deal with many. The worst our own people. I have an MBA out of PU.(Oregon's Portland U.) Took me 5 seconds after graduation to know with certainty I had chosen the wrong career! I joined the Army. Barely tall enough and right at cut off weight for MP'S. I loved every part of it! You know how it feels to do something for your country. Some day's are great, other's not so much. What I hated was the attitude of many men. If you reported them you were told " you knew this was a man's Army". I had a smartass comment for that. I just recommended he look around. He was the only man in an office of 20 female's some of whom outranked him. Yeah, smarassed comment! Was told to not make it harder for females. I am not a mother. I was hurt and couldn't have any. My husband was murdered so it was just as well I couldn't. We are both strong intelligent women. I have an obligation to stand up for my people. Were we perfect? Nope! Human's have an odd way of turning againt each other. What I am saying is you understand my people from what non indigenous people have written. We are trained from birth to remember an oral history. As I am half Cherokee we had a very good and precise written language. It was many Europeans came because they were running from poverty, illness, war's and starvation. And at first we welcomed them. But when the good one's came, there were many criminals too. They came to avoid paying for their crimes. We had no way of defending ourselves against the onslaught. And still they come. Just because we had territorial war's didn't mean they could come and take what wasn't theirs. And it's not right to take the people from where they were born and force them at gunpoint to march with no food or water for day's. We call it " The trail where we wept". My great grandmother was captured by someone and sold to some Mormons. Something happened. She saw it. She ran and a young Piute man saved her. So, half (more like 3/4) Cherokee and the rest Piute. It was not the fault of many whites. (A generic word) It was still wrong what was done regardless of who did it. "I will fight no more forever"! A great leader said that. Right before he was murdered by his own people. Sorry long reply. I am recovering from being in a house fire. I was killed, my dog was killed and I lost everything. Take the things. I just want my dog back. Last day of June 2018, Spokane Valley Washington. It is recorded somewhere. Makes me bored and intense.

I just love the people of the first Nation, so beautiful, but so many odds against them, needs to change.

Federal government one major impediment. Have asked before where all that casino profit goes: medical care, schools, law enforcement, elder care, etc., etc. ??? Apparently their leaders have learned the self serving & greed from good old white bureaucracy.
