Tissue is made from cells which have similar functions and structure There are 4 types of tissues 1 epithelial tissue : protection secretion absorption lining covering 2 connective tissue: support linkage transportation 3 skeletal tissue : structural framework of body , body posture, locomotion and movement 4 neural tissue : control and co ordination _____________________________ Epithelial tissue: 1 simple 2 compound 1 simple: squamous : filtration diffusion heart lungs vessels blood and lymphatic vascular tissue kidney ,cuboidal : secretion and absorption uterus uterine ducts protection thyroid follicle duct of glands ovary tubular part of nephron columnar: stomach intestine uterus uterine tubes some part of respiratory tract 2 stratified : keratinised and non keratinised and transitional: urinary bladder provide elasticity by changing shape due to pressure and stress Keratinised: hair skin nales made from keratinocytes water proof Non keratinised: oesophagus vagina pharynx mouth tongue Stratified : s. squamous: skeen,nails,hairs keratinised protection S.cuboidal: mammary gland salivary gland sweat gland Protection and secretion S.collumnar: lining of eyelids , oesophagal glands , urethra , mucus membrane Ciliated collumnar: ventricles of brain spinal cord upper part of respiratory tract also called as pseudostratified ciliated collumnar epithelium Ciliated cuboidal : help in movement of mucus 3. glandular: endocrine secretion of hormones directly in blood streem Exocrine secretion of chemical in duct of glands
