I just need to ask: how was he doing the gauntlet without losing a ton of time for not killing the targets? Also that moment when you've used a standard xbox controller and loadout ever since you got it and want to learn to slide hop... HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO HOLD THE STICKS TO THE SIDES AND PRESS A AND B! *SOBS* Also also, how do people not realize how to air strafe? I always thought it was something difficult like slide hopping and, like slide hopping, there's more to it than just moving side to side while airborne, but that's literally what it is... I can't imagine playing any shooter period without this "technique".

*gasp* Did I just come across a KZbin "incident" that didnt instantly devolve into ridiculous, hate-spewing flame war?? lol As someone who has been looking at a wall to start a wall run, I can answer your question - people who had no idea that strafing towards/against a wall would start a wall run look at a wall to wall run, that's who. Noobish noobs like myself. This does explain some of my "how did I just do that" moments, lol.

you should mention combining slide hoping and air strafing, you can actually gain speed by air strafing during a slide hop chain, why just preserve momentum when you can go faster! took about 2 hours of empty lobby practice to successfully combine slide hopping and air strafing to the point of being confident with it in real matches.

It's very rare to get an in-depth walk through on how to improve your overall multiplayer experience in any game these days. But, Tony Mo, you did just that with this TF2 pilot mobility video. Your break down of everything now gives me ability to get in the game and do everything like you laid out and really enjoy the online part of it. I've never been great at FPS games, but I always seem to keep getting them hoping to one day get better. Thank you for this video and keep up the great work. You made a subscriber out of me.

So far the best tutorial I've seen on TF2. Props, man. You gave respect and referenced the level 3 pros, admitted you're not there, which hooked me and most of the TF2 community. You gave sound, helpful advice to aspiring pilots. Excellent vid. You inspired me to keep trying to not get my ass kicked and continue to "have fun", which is what it's all about.

Your videos are damn well structured and are of such high quality in production that I can't help but wonder why you got less subscribers than other Titanfall KZbinrs. Maybe because the TF Fanbase is building up way slower and isn't as big as some other Triple A titles? Anyways, thanks for the video! I'd respect Frothy more if he respected that most players just want to have fun and didn't call people "memey" for using weapons that are fun like the Kraber or SMR. His whole project Nessie video is just a tryhard's wet dream to turn the game into Esports and divide the already small playerbase.
@ToneyMo
@ToneyMo 7 жыл бұрын
+linkkicksu but it's not "his" video. He was merely the person reading the script. That entire thing was constructed by members of the community. I'm sure he agrees with much of it but regardless that video represented the views of many members of the community not just Frothy
@linkkicksu
@linkkicksu 7 жыл бұрын
I'm certain that the folks he collaborated with all shared similar views, else they wouldn't have put those points in the video. As I said to Frothy; fair enough that they worked on the video together so they can do whatever they want, but it's not cool that he disabled comments on the video so that people who disagree can't voice their opinion. And don't go "just make your own video" because you know that if I or any old John Doe made a video it wouldn't have a quarter of the influence that Frothy has.

Brian Chandler You're entirely right. When I typed this comment it was after the video had ended. When I got to the part about air strafing I thought of something else. I do air strafe and I always have done so. I wouldn't define that style of wall running a 'strafe', so that's were I got confused. But I also don't understand how people can't slide hop either...?

I'm in the same boat as well! I can very reliably slide hop, and when I am moving at slightly faster than normal I can do it but when I am going top speed the moment I come up to an area where I need to turn I get about half the turn, or I turn to much and I stop moving entirely

Great video really interesting. I personally don't use slide hopping I've never needed to. I'd recommend teaching people how to Tarzan (essentially swinging round right angle corners with the grapple hook that you ordinarily wouldn't be able to get round) as it's a really good way to maximise your speed in multiplayer and makes you even more unpredictable to the enemy. I can't tell you the number of times I've had an enemy expect me to come right at him then instead I grappled round the building and executed him instead.
@chrissinnemann8325
@chrissinnemann8325 7 жыл бұрын
luke harding good players can actually turn corners in mid air and wallrunning without the grapple, actually everything except pulling close to enemies is achievable without the grapple
@mystic_arts90
@mystic_arts90 7 жыл бұрын
Christopher Sinnemann I'm not saying it's a necessary equip I'm saying if you chose to use it then it's good to do. Not only does it increase your speed but allows you to be unpredictable and get around 90 degree or steeper corners (yes you can do it but you like we a lot of precious momentum. So it's not worth doing you're better off jumping to another wall then jumping back) in no time at all. By doing this tactic I've dodged numerous near deaths from pilots and titans simply because I'm too fast to hit and even when they're leading me and am about to kill me I can just release my grapple and fall out of their sight and escape them.

dude, on my first game of titanfall 2, I was essentially Level 3. The things that are even more important than all of these things youve said is game sense (+everything else) AND ESPECIALLY SLIDE HOPPING (I guess I'm an exception cause I love bhopping, have done it for years before titanfall 2, and played titanfall 1) Also, 5:10 THIS ISNT AIR STRAFING. ITS LITERALLY JUST MOVING YOUR JOYSTICK/PRESSING YOUR DIRECTIONAL KEY. Air strafing includes also having to change your look to a certain direction. That was literally just "Press the D key!" lmao

I don't think this is a full explanation of what other people are calling air strafing - it's the slight turn in the air that makes you GAIN speed, not just jumping at an angle so you don't lose it. Slide hopping is a lot easier than real air strafing.

I'd say that I'm maybe around a level 2 pilot, but I always bleed my speed when wall running. Even though I don't do very well on that part, I still get myself out of tough situations. I definitely can't bunny hop either. My lifetime average K/D is 1.9 and average vs players is 1.3. I'd say that I'm a decent player, but still have a lot to learn. Rank 43 and at 18h 34min on my playtime at current. I have friends who own TF2 that I could practice with, but they very rarely play it.

i would like them to just take it to the max and put in thrusting and a wallrun straight upward walls and maybe a charge-up non-sprint straight upward jump also titan supers should have them transform slightly for some offensive attack like the arms and head turning into a fortified tank turret and a more mobile class with like wheels in the feet and it takes a charging stance with a melee lunge super. like high speed off road wheels for legs with ramming gear on arms. like a giant robot linebacker. with rocket propulsion. mabey a flying core with legs that turn into two different range weapons. not saying full on transformers but i always like robots that can have features of other machinery and mabey not this last one but im thinking a fire truck that sprays acid/napalm/nitrogen

I think you're confused about airstrafing.. Airstrafing is when you jump-strafe (almost diagonal) the same way you would to boost your speed in an MMO or most other games whih use a first-person or third-person camera. This is possible because the developers put a limit in how fast you can run and jump forward, but the same limits are higher to the side. This is why when you bunny hop, you always want to jump strafe left, jump strafe right, etc. 99% of players already do the "air-strafing" you're talking about.

I take my words back. But i am a speed pilot i enjoy running and jumping 5x faster than my enemies. But when turning corners i lose all my speed so i keep stim and gravity star for gstar boosting (which is the easiest to master).
