it's not how scorch is, but how his enemy's are that make him a bit under powered in the current Titan meta. even Ronin,a Titan he can counter fairly well, can trick him into using all his flame sheild and then unload on Him and then hold down Melee to shread him. ( also, Ronin can chace you down, completely negate youre core, and use the mod that phase shifts when doomed with nuke eject to one shot you, with no chance of you escaping, to IMMEDIATELY get a new Titan).

Two things you forgot to mention. 1) Electric smoke puts out thermite. This includes both Scorch's thermite and firestar, which really puts a damper on things. You can see this in 6:52. 2) Flame shield is an excellent deterrent against pilots who want to rodeo you.

nice review. but you probably shouldn't have skipped the importance of flame shield and the thermal shield kit. I don't want to say "if you don't pick that kit, you're wrong", but... yeah basically. you make short work of any titan that thinks he can push you, like legion. wait for the gunshield, fire a incendiary trap/thermite behind him, and just push him back into it with firesheild until you can use you're core(which is practically instantaneous). he's not the best titan by any means, but chokepoints are his domain and nobody gets past a good scorch without MASSIVE reprecussions

you can pop a trap behind the enemy titan shoot the wall out to light it and stand next to the thermite and use your shield. he will have to stay in your shield which results in lots of damage or the trap resulting in lots of damage. or if used right. both, resulting in death

Don't underestimate the thermal shield. When it has increased damage and last longer it will melt enemy titans. When I play scorch I love getting up in enemies faces and just using thermal shield until my core builds. It destroys enemy titans and you usually take minimal damage from it. This works especially well when enemy titans are cornered.

Scorch is currently my favourite Titan (I mean, when you get a triple titan kill with one flame core then I have a reason, don't I?) and it is GOD LIKE on Drydock. Perfect in the tight environment with the flame core, firewall and the badass fire shield is just immensely satisfying to use against measly Northstar's.

Ugh yeah Scorch is a nightmare to deal with on Dry Dock. The center of the map is basically impossible to the Scorch pilot plans out their traps and walls.

something important to remember is that electric smoke puts out thermite fire! around 6:50 the enemy legion stops the gas can from igniting by popping smoke on it

Another good strat if someone can't move or doesn't see you is to stack all your damage at once. Throw both traps, shoot, then flamewall to give them no time to react. The damage caused by this gets a legion from full to doom in about 2.5 seconds, and that single all out attack will get most if not all of your core instantly.

There's another scorch kit. It's great for pinning more them two enemies and it's called "Scorched earth." With this equipped flame core leaves thermite in its awakening, combined with traps can turn you into Phil Swift. "THAT'S A LOT OF DAMAGE!"

Very Nice video, but you should go more in depth! You made a huge oversight when you didn't mention that electric smoke can shut down almost all of scorch's thermite abilities (except for flame shield) there even an example of it in this video (6:40-7:10) legion uses his smoke to stop the thermite trap from spreading as he pushes away. there are other things but that's what struck out the most. I mean no disrespect just wanted to help you give the most to your viewers!

I actually didn't know about the electric smoke trick. You and someone else pointed it out and my mind was blown because that's a pretty useful tactic. As for going more in depth, there's definitely a lot more min-max stuff I could get into but since I'm doing a vid for each of the titans, I've been jumping around a lot. I haven't had to time to figure out all the tricks for each one. I'm gen 2 for all the titans now so I'm basically a jack of all trades master of none. For now, I won't have any super advanced tricks in my titan overviews. BUT I'm definitely going to mention that smoke trick in the legion video!!!!!! Thanks m8

a ronin or really any titan that tries to push a scorch is gonna have a bad time. unless he’s outnumbered and you can get behind him, he will literally melt your face and punish you so hard. so while mobility is a good tactic against him, its definetely better to take him from range and open areas.

The problem with playing as scorch is it can't hit airborne enemies, like a flying Northstar or a double jumping pilot.

ok, we have to say it...and I KNOW you know this...but at 5:04...you weren't trapped, your back wasn't up against a wall, you were in the perfect spot for Scorch to hold off that Tone and Scorch...that path extends back to the spawn and streamlines titans that try to fight you down it...but to prove your own point, you walked forward into your firewall...but you didn't have to. You could have easily killed both of them and not even been doomed. Literally the BEST spot for Scorch...so actually, you Deployed your Flame core, then rebuilt it back up in seconds...the core, then the incidiary trap to firewall, built back up your core, so you did it again...well hell yeah that will kill a full health Scorch...two Flame cores?

I'd love the thermite grenate but i did always use the Tone becouse it's powerfull. And my experience with Scorch in the campaign was not good. So i just decided to use Scorch for a bit. Heck it's fun to burn them all! :D xD

It's dumb to not stay close to enemy titans while using Scorch, the heat shield is the best offensive and can destroy an enemy titan in a matter of seconds, if used properly.
