So I have found a couple more issues with the model. On the poop deck, it is missing the relief for the roller fairlead on the port side. You can actually see the missing relief at the 8:46 mark in the install video. The other issue, is more of an accuracy issue. The stairs are facing the wrong way. Doesn't sound like too big of deal, but if you place the stairs in the correct orientation, there is an overhang over the stair case. This obstructs it from view, and also throws the dome alignment off.

Great model, its lacking the pillars for the overhang of the promenade deck in the front below the bridge and on the sides. The pillars that are on the sides are too spaced apart, ive had to add my own spots for pillars in the stl.

Do I glue the hull together? So far, it doesn't seem to want to hold with just the pins.
@Gambody_com

Thanks for reaching out with your question! When it comes to assembling the Titanic model, using glue can definitely help ensure sturdy construction, especially given the complexity and size of the model. Many of our customers have had success using superglue, which works well with plastic prints. Additionally, some hobbyists opt for modeling or epoxy glue for added strength. If you are looking for specific brands, we recommend that you check out the following posts from our Facebook Community facebook.com/groups/183216945475583, where experienced 3D printing enthusiasts share their advice and suggestions: facebook.com/groups/183216945475583/posts/1704895523307710/ facebook.com/groups/183216945475583/posts/1614119785718618/ We hope this helps! Gonna try and print this using Cura but not all the setting can be setup exported into cura, also is it advisable to scale up this, or will it be big as it is. Tips plz?
@Gambody_com
@Gambody_com 9 ай бұрын
We're glad to hear that you're interested in printing the Titanic model! Regarding the slicer settings, while not all parameters can be directly exported to Cura from our website, you can find the recommended Cura settings on the model's page under 'Printing Details': www.gambody.com/3d-models/titanic. These settings have been carefully tested with Cura 5.2.1 slicer, using Anycubic Vyper and Creality Ender 3 Pro with PLA filament. (+screenshot) For the best results, we advise sticking to the recommended scales. If printed in FFF/FDM at a scale of 1:200, the model will be 368 mm high, 178 mm wide, and 1354 mm deep. With DLP/SLA version's recommended scale of 1:400, the ship will be 184 mm tall, 89 mm wide, and 677 mm deep. Keep in mind that these scales were chosen to ensure high detail, smooth assembly, and proportional 3D prints, regardless of your 3D printer type. While you are free to go for a larger project, we recommend avoiding downscaling on filament 3D printers, as it can result in a loss of detail and make assembly challenging. However, upscaling is harmless, and the models we offer at Gambody handle it well due to their high-poly nature. Before you start printing, make sure all the parts fit into your 3D printer and are scaled evenly for proper assembly. Don't miss the chance to take advantage of our "Black Friday in July" summer campaign! Save up to 35% on a wide range of models, including the latest additions, until July 27th. You can find more details here: www.gambody.com/search?tag=bfjuly&sort=purchases. If you have any further questions or need assistance, feel free to contact us. Enjoy your 3D printing journey!

I'm in the process of building this model. I was wondering could we get a three blade center prop? There is strong evidence the Titanic was equipped with a three blade prop. Also how about the kedge anchors? There are two of those. One on the poop deck and one on the starboard side just aft of the breakwater. It's been a fun build so far, but I want to make my model as accurate as possible. Thanks!

Hey there! It's fantastic to hear that you're enjoying the process of building the Titanic model, and we appreciate your commitment to accuracy! Regarding your question about the propellers, the Titanic model comes with 3-blade side propellers and a 4-blade center propeller, which align with the ship's historical specifications. Additionally, we also offer a separate Olympic Class Steam Engine model, which features the same 3-blade side propellers and 4-blade center propeller as the actual engine. This engine can be displayed on its own or seamlessly integrated into your Titanic model, allowing for a fully operational system. You can find it on our marketplace for just $24.99: www.gambody.com/3d-models/olympic-class-steam-engine. As for the anchors, they can be seen in the nose of the ship, and they are included in the file set for the model. Your attention to detail is invaluable, and we're committed to providing the most accurate models for our community of builders. However, it's worth noting that due to the complexity of the model and the presence of many details, some specific elements were left off in the design. We strive to strike a balance between accuracy and feasibility in the design process. We appreciate your understanding in this regard. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

@@Gambody_com Yeah that doesn't answer my question at all. Yes I know the model has three anchors. I have already printed them. The ship had 5 anchors. Also there is very strong evidence that the Titanic was fitted with a three blade center prop. I am aware the outboard props are three blade, as I have already printed them. I will model the prop and the other two anchors myself.

@@Gambody_com Cnckart is correct. Titanic's center propeller very likely had 3 blades according to historical engineering notes. This would be a relatively easy change to make to the model.

Is it possible to print with resin printer ?
@Gambody_com
@Gambody_com 9 ай бұрын
Thank you for your interest in our marketplace and the Titanic model! We're happy to inform you that the STL files are designed to be compatible with both FFF/FDM and DLP/SLA printers. For the Titanic model in particular, we have carefully prepared several versions to accommodate different 3D printing technologies. The DLP/SLA version of the Titanic model consists of 175 highly detailed parts. When printed at the recommended scale of 1:400, the liner measures at an impressive 184mm high, 89mm wide and 677mm deep. We understand that using a resin printer may require a bit more resin than other printers, but the level of detail and realism achieved makes it more than worthwhile. The DLP/SLA printing technology allows for stunningly accurate prints that capture even the finest details of this iconic ship. As a token of our appreciation for new customers, we have an exclusive "New Customers Double Offer". Enjoy up to 30% off your first order, and to sweeten the deal, we will also credit 50% back to your account. For more details on this exciting offer, please visit our blog page: www.gambody.com/blog/new-customers-double-offer/. Thanks for your curiosity! Although the Titanic model is not designed for water contact, it is possible to make the ship float by sealing the hull to make it watertight. Materials such as epoxy resin, UV resin, or silicone sealant can be used to seal the surface. For the best results, we recommend a waterproof surface for both FFF/FDM and resin prints. With resin printing and its smooth finish, achieving buoyancy becomes even easier. If you decide to bring this masterpiece to life, don't forget to share the awe-inspiring moment with our vibrant community on Facebook. Thank you for your feedback! Generally, we provide the 3D printing models in certain recommended scales. For instance, the scales for models of huge monsters (e.g. Godzilla) are 1:250 and 1:500 of the original size for FFF/FDM and DLP/SLA versions accordingly. MechWarrior models have scales as follows: 1:60 and 1:100 (FFF/FDM and DLP/SLA respectively). Finally, for 3D printing models of human or human-like characters, the scales are 1:8 for FFF/FDM version and 1:16 for DLP/SLA ones. These scales are chosen by us to ensure that you will be able to receive a high level of detail, assemble the model without any issues, and create a proportionate collection of 3D prints no matter the 3D printer you have. But those scales are a mere suggestion, so you are absolutely free to go for a larger project if you wish! When it comes to changes in scales, we do not recommend downscaling the models or using smaller versions on filament 3D printers - this can result in a loss of details, clearance shrinkage, and complicated assembly post-printing. But upscaling is harmless and can be done to an impressive extent due to the high-poly nature of the models! The Titanic's scale was meticulously calculated based on the Titanic's length of 269,000 mm. At a 1:200 scale, the FFF/FDM printed version stands 368 mm tall, 178 mm wide, and 1354 mm deep, while the DLP/SLA printed version, at 1:400 scale, measures 184 mm tall, 89 mm wide, and 677 mm deep. We also recommend checking out some of the upscaled prints that have been shared by our community members: facebook.com/groups/183216945475583/posts/1331767497287183/? facebook.com/groups/183216945475583/posts/1647182472412349/? facebook.com/groups/183216945475583/posts/1193412354456032/? facebook.com/groups/183216945475583/posts/1611563099307620/?
