The main theme of Titanic is one of those that stays etched in your memory regardless of how many years have passed since you watched the movie. A simple melody, yet one that conveys a lot. Moreover, "My Heart Will Go On," as the famous song is called, sounds wonderful when played on the piano, allowing for dynamics ranging from the softest to the most powerful.
Despite Titanic appearing to be an easy theme, the truth is that mastering the arrangement I recorded has been quite challenging. I wanted to bring into play everything I've learned. Going from simple melodies to octaves in the right hand, moving up and down the piano to convey different emotions, adding intensity with the left hand at certain moments using low octaves and immediately transitioning to arpeggios. But above all, what has been the most challenging is keeping the left hand arpeggiating throughout almost the entire theme, with a new pattern for me, creating that beautiful texture.
I started learning to play the piano approximately 2 years and 8 months ago, starting from absolute zero, all thanks to the musihacks courses and @JaimeAltozano. A thousand thanks to Jaime because as a teacher, he's incredible, unbeatable. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to learn to play the piano.
