If you can imagine being stranded without your possessions or any money to purchase new ones, then it’s easy to imagine how hard it was for Maude and others to figure out their next move forward. The shock of witnessing all those people die had surely set in by that time, not to mention the stress of booking a train or boat somewhere else.

I listened to that part and she didn't sound callous. In the way her words were delivered, it seems like she was giving the most detailed account to paint the picture from her personal perspective.

I stand corrected. After review and reading your comments, I submit that this MUST have been very traumatizing. To attempt to put one’s life back together after the struggle to survive and what was witnessed had to be horrifying for sure. Thanks for setting me straight. I couldn’t imagine what those people went through. Please forgive me. I was out of line. Be well, friends.
