I known it sounds weird, but before you start playing, expand your stomach. Don't inhale a bunch of air, it's better if you expand your belly and use a small amount of air for the note

I normally do breath exercises beforehand. I would put your hand in an "L" shape and put your knuckle against your mouth and breathe in for eight beats and exhale for eight. Try to push out as much air as possible. Repeat that about four times. You then inhale for eight beats and exhale for six beats and repeat that four times. You then inhale for eight beats and exhale for four and repeat four times. You then repeat this process twice to expand your lungs. When you play, try to make your mouth almost into a frown so the overture is steady

what do you mean by like the notes? if so it kind of is G is like the same for sax you put down 3 fingers on the top of the sax for flute you put 3 fingers plus pinky

Yes the flute is amazing! I have been playing for about 2 years now as well. At first your going to suck. You will know 2 notes. Don't expect to be able to play any of these songs right off the bat. I think I was only able to play these songs my 2nd year. By the end of the first of your taking a school corse you will most likely Come out barely knowing one scale. But stick with it the next year because that's when most people including me suddenly got really good. I'm so glad I chose the flute in 5th grade! It's super fun once you get past the beginners stuff so I recommend you just stick with it and go. P.s Actually practice at home I didn't all my first year and I regret it. Although I had natural talent to make up for my laziness...perks :)

I do. Make sure your sitting up Straight, your flute is high up (your arms will hurt) and this is really hard but try and push your feet to the ground😉

I'm not sure if this will help, but for me, when I have to play a really high note, I tighten the corners of my mouth. I've been playing for two years so I'm not a pro, but I hope this will help

For me I have been whistling my favorite songs long before I started playing flute so if you can whistle I'd say practice with whistling first then learn the notes. It has helped me tremendously with my flute playing. Good luck. :)

you have to put your head joint on to the body then the foot joint but the keys on the body should match up with the hole on the head joint then the bar on the foot joint should match with the keys on the body.
