Stuck like shit to a blanket. Thanks for that! I’m going to use the phrase the first chance I get. I’ve been watching you work since shortly after I started smithing many years ago. Well done, sir!

Now that's a result! Far beyond my poor skills. Way off into the realm of art. Seasons greetings and all the best for the next year (or decade) from a hobby smith who wishes he had a little bit of your talent and skill (and experience!)

Now I would have fought that you would have made a machine for the " Quite Laborious " bit.......Entertaining as always have a Merry Christmas

I think it is a pretty knife. In colonial days people used pewter instead of solder. It might be worth trying to jewel it Merry Christmas Frank

Ah Mr Huston - another champion artifact. Soon as you said that you'd "acquired" that round stock out of an aerospace skip - thought of me brother's keepsake which is now an office paperweight - spherical bearing from a Tornado taileron actuator - your bar could make the ram. It's probably - "Ti-6Al-4V [Ti-6-4] (Grade 5) Heat treatable, high-strength, most commercially available Ti alloy ("workhorse" alloy for aerospace applications), for use up to 400°C offering an excellent combination of high strength, toughness, and ductility along with good weldability and fabricability." Think that description is written from the Brit AeroSpace entire machineshop point of view! Fortunately I can report the similar material I now have in me hip is - bloody fantastic! I'm already having a go at wearing in out.

Alan, as I think I said in one of my earlier replies, it’s not grade 5, I have bought and used grade 5 in previous videos and it’s nothing like this stuff! Must be something exotic!🤣

@@garyhuston Sorry if I got the wrong end of your bar! Me earholes aren't what they used to be - any idea why? However; I have a fantastic new hip I'm doing me best to wear out already!
