these videos sometimes bring me to tears. i used to work with sea lions and i miss it every day. i never felt more aligned with my purpose than when i was taking care of them.

It's always so heartwarming to see how much care and thought go into taking care of each and every animal at the aquarium! Giant sea basses are such sweet creatures and it's awesome to see you guys treat them with as much love as they deserve :D

Oh my word. I had no idea that you could "train" a Giant Sea Bass like this! And you started with Theo when he was just a baby. How fascinating! I will tell my son about this. They have enough income to be able to travel to see things like this. I wish I could go with them this is marvelous!

I love these sea bass. They're the stars of the Monteray bay aquarium north pacific species exhibit. Big, ominous, and natural stoic beauty. In the wild... They rule with an iron fin and REALLY big mouth.

Fish are so biologically different from us and we rarely get to observe them up close/interact with them, so it's always a treat to see what their behaviors and personalities are. It took me a long time to realize fish can be super intelligent! They look so primitive, so it can be hard to recognize their body language unless you work with them every day like the folks at the Aquarium do. Thank you for sharing a small glimpse into their life!

Many fish have very primitive expressions to our eye, and some seem rather monstrous-- and some *are* monstrous!-- being aggressive carnivores. In any case, they're quite fascinating and even the strange ones are beautiful in their own way.
