Thank you for this teaching! I needed it. I gave 10% last month, and had to borrow money to buy my medications. So, when I get paid next month I will have to pay that person back. I felt God couldn't have wanted me to tithe, then turn around and borrow, when I had the money for my meds, which would've kept me from borrowing if I hadn't given so much. It’s about time! I discovered the truth for myself 5 years ago and was delivered, but no one would listen. I still give 10% of my income, but as an offering, not a tithe. When my husband and I used to tithe, if we missed one and something negative happened, we thought it was a consequence of not tithing. Ironically, we’ve been more blessed since we stopped tithing. Give according to what you can afford. It doesn’t make sense to tithe and still be struggling financially! We are no longer under the law but under grace!

Did you know that, concerning giving, or tithing, or prosperity, Malachi 3:8-12 is not the full counsel of God? It is an excerpt, quoted to the church for centuries (believe it or not), which is a misrepresentation of God's counsel. We've accepted it because that's what we have always been taught. Here are a few points to consider. -- Who did God appoint to receive tithes? God said, "And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth [the tithe] in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation (Numbers 18:21-23). In this scripture, God established who receives the tithe (the Levites), and why they received it (they received no inheritance, and they served in the temple). This assignment is exclusive to Levites. A pastor cannot assume this assignment, he has never been scripturally assigned by God to collect tithes, he is not a Levite. In that same sense, only a Levite, never a pastor, could ever serve in a Jewish temple. The church has not replaced the Jewish temple, and pastors have not replaced Levites. -- People are blessed when they give, not because of Malachi 3, which is based on the Law of Moses, an Old Testament law that has been replaced by Grace under Christ, at the cross. They are blessed because Jesus said, "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you" (Luke 6:38). It is this principle of giving and receiving at work, when we give and are blessed. Not the expired law of tithing, which was required of the Jews (never Gentiles), and could only be received by Levite priests because they received no inheritance and were set apart to work fully in the Jewish temple. -- There is much more to this, such as Abraham's tithe to Melchizedek, Jacob's promise to tithe, the history of when and why the New Testament church tithes (there is actually a date!), and the scriptures that speak to these issues. To be clear, every pastor has a right to collect offerings in support of the ministry; I fully agree with supporting the church financially. But our giving must be godly. It is wrong to require people to tithe, contrary to the scriptures, then say that we live according to the scriptures. Four biblical truths, regarding tithing: (1) There is no scripture that authorizes anyone but a Levite to receive tithes. (2) There is no scripture that authorizes a pastor to receive tithes. (3) There is no scripture that requires a Gentile to tithe. (4) There is no scripture that requires the church to tithe. It's hard to change old beliefs and habits...not only our religious beliefs but our life beliefs. I am the daughter of two "gimme that old time religion" ministers (one a pastor). Change is one of the most difficult things for humans to make even when it may benefit us. My son forwarded this sermon to me because we often differ in our spiritual practices and he thinks my mind is closed when it comes to considering alternative forms of religious practices. I will end here by saying I need to do more comparison research and pray I can do it with an open and inviting mind. I do this for my son and myself. 🙏

I was ordained a minister several years ago. I never attended theological seminaries. I am proud to say that the Holy Spirit, along with my personal studies, led me to a clear understanding of what the Holy Spirit has revealed to you. However, because you (Pastor Dollar) and others who are in the limelight’s of the Gospel, have preached “tithing principles”, no one was willing to listen to me (a storefront preacher). Tithing was actually applicable to the line of Benjamin and the Levitical priest. Jesus said in giving to the poor you are giving to me. I actually sow more than 10% into my shepherd and church, but I also help the poor immensely, which most pastors don’t teach about. Not here to argue or prove a point. We are all free to think what we want. It takes a lot for someone to repent in front of the world when they were wrong, and most people will condemn them, but won’t even repent for being wrong in front of their spouse. Years ago I studied this subject extensively and I found that what I was taught was error and I made the shift. I never publicly taught it because like so many others that know the truth we already know some would automatically reject it out of the fear and guilt they've been taught regarding tithing. Nevertheless, I did share the truth with my family and some of them received it and some rejected it. One thing I know is since I have come to believe and recognize the finished work of Christ (death, burial, and resurrection) the Lord has not ceased to bless my life in ways I could never be under the curse of the law. Tithing is a principle I’ll continue to stand on. I’ve been practicing these for decades and it works for me. God gives me enough to tithe AND give, with my ALL my bills still being paid. By the wisdom of God I was able to pay off a brand new car ($26,000) in 7 months. Paid off my son’s car ($23,000 in TWO WEEKS, stock market). All this while tithing. No husband, boyfriend, and side piece, just Him. He provides.

I have been noticing changes in Mr. Creflo’s teaching my friends in Christ in the last 8 years. He has been my mentor since I started walking with Jesus in 2001. I trust Mr. Creflo is hearing from God. Mr. Creflo has had an awakening since he had cancer and then he started to teach on Grace. I have always trust his teachings and still do. I have learned that the closer you get to God and be sensitive to His spirit and attentive to His teachings we grow and get new understanding through His faithfulness and our tests. I know that I will not feel guilty if I’m not able to give my tithes b/c I know my Daddy and He knows my heart!! I know He is my Provider and I know I’m a cheerful giver in so many different ways. I just want to have a heart that pleases God with His help that lives with in me!!! Love you Jesus!!! One more thing I believe in the family in Christ we’ll always give the 10% or more b/c we give b/c we had a revelation about giving!!! It came from Him and His Spirit within!!! Members of the body need to be Bereans. We all need to carefully examine what is taught to us. This is not the only thing Dollar has been wrong about. I remember talking to people from his church in 1992 about tithing. I think the main thing the Body needs to focus on in this situation, is the process in how things come to light. Where is the Holy Spirit in this whole process? Where is the discernment of the word? Dollar has been preaching prosperity theology for decades and people have been challenging his understanding for years and he would double down on his beliefs. The Body need to put mega pastors in their place and stop putting men above the Word of God. Pastors need to stop saying that God/ Holy Spirit told me this and told me that about a topic if that is not the case. This man spent years telling members of the body, his own misguided views about Christians who did not tithe in a prosperity theology mind state. When I was a young believer, I thought that Creflo Dollar was not a credible person to be under and today nothing has changed. I would like to know when he sought the truth about tithing from God/ Holy Spirit. Is Dollar led by the Lord or his own motives. Many people saw this man have his congregation focus on purchasing a private jet among other shady things this wolf in sheep's clothing has done over the years. But no matter what many will choose to be under his guidance and that is their right to choose.

Instead all of those prosperity P's jet around the world, spreading their lies, owning mansions ( & other homes), several vehicles, living in luxury, etc. What did the Apostles have when "walking" miles, sleeping on grass, dirt wherever, etc., when they were truly sharing God's word. These pastors should be ashamed of themselves by lying to people who don't know God's word, but come to hear only to be told lies. Some people are in dire needs for God's help. Unfortunately some preach lies and do not preach the truth! The truth is , Jesus Christ said we may or will face trial or tribulations, but trust in the Lord. Most if not all of us may never be rich and struggle- why? Only God knows. We must pray, but telling people to give half or more of their limited income and God will triple or multiply it several times is a lie and wrong. We don't give to God to get back. We don't know God's plan are even if we give millions. I pray these people would have discernment to ask God to lead them to a true teacher of God's word who will encourage them to read God's truth on their own also to avoid false teachings.

The tithe is brought into the church in order to help the people around that church that are in need not for the pastor to pocket the money. It’s really sad. I can't understand how the same Holy Spirit that lead people to teach these things for years to the masses hasn't revealed what is now being taught long ago. I don't say this in judgement... but with a legitimate question. I feel like it should now be taught with all seriousness and not jokingly and not all of a sudden saying it with condemnation for other churches who teach about giving a 10% tithe. If he feels like he was in error after preaching this subject and preaching overall... for so many years... this will make non-beleivers question the church of God and will also give the "I told you so" statements that outsiders make... credibility as to why the church is teaching false doctrine. If Creflo new perspective is true... he should speak it in all humility and seriousness. Someone with his in-depth ability to speak, teach and preach, for him to all of a sudden become aware of this topic now is cunfusing and questions what else is being taught wrong. When we say... I find it very interesting that Pastor Creflo brough the majority of his message out of the new living translation, but then flipped to King James Version when he brought what Jesus said into the mix along with the most commonly referenced scripture concerning tithing. To be Spirit led also means to give where and to whom Holy Spirit tells you to! If you wanna give to God remember this: Acts 17:24; "God does not live in temples built by human hands." Creflo does not know what he is talking about. Example: If we are not under the law, then offerings are also not necessary. Why attack tithes and not offerings? Now, I know we are not under the law, but grace like Abraham displayed with Melchizedek. Jesus is now in this office (book of Hebrews), why? Jesus is also the head of the Church. What does this mean? That we give tithes under grace to the Church in order to honor our high priest, and to supply the needs of the local church.

@@felixwanga4583 You're partly correct, its not so much that you decide, what happens is that you are seen as 'rebellious' especially if you've been attending that church for a long time & suddenly stop tithing.... as for me, the pastor called a one-on-one meeting with me and asked me what's happening...... tithing is old testament & there were rules on how it was supposed to be given...it had to be given to a place where the Lord appointed.... and only given to the Levitical priests .... its not even practical to practice it now because the whole set-up of the church has no Levites.

Tithing is not compolsory. It's a relic of the mosaic covenant! Giving was what Christ preached. Give love, Give mercy, Give to the poor and the needy. Giving is greater than tithing. Tithing has been one of the major tools that has shackled the church to the Law thereby denying the church the full revelation of the victory obtained by Christ on calvary!

Thank you. It's about time a mainstream minister has the boldness to declare this message. I am shocked that Joseph Prince does not have this revelation. He talks about Abraham tithing before the law and to that I say, Abraham was also circumcised before the law of Moses so does that mean we teach circumcision? By no means! We are circumcised and purified in heart by FAITH. And If anyone tries to tell you that tithing is a matter of grace citing Abraham, gently correct them with Matthew 23:23. Jesus declares tithing as a 'MATTER OF THE LAW.' And according to Romans 4:14, "For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made VOID, and the promise made of NONE EFFECT." Faith is made void by the law. "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices-mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law-justice, mercy and faithfulness." From this scripture we can see that Jesus communicates the tithe as a part of the law. Anything that was woven into the law of Moses will always be a 'MATTER OF THE LAW.' Case closed as far as I am concerned. Now give as each one has purposed in his heart. Amen

I find it amazing to hear someone who's living under grace and mercy everyday their eyes open to judge another. Picking and choosing is not in covenant.
