I see this pastor have so many positive comments on other sermons but as it comes to tithes, all of a sudden he nobody likes it.. We only like what suits us. But tithing is also God's mandate.

The problem is that today's version of tithing carries no biblical precedent. There's nothing wrong with the discretionary practice of tithing, it simply not an act of biblical obedience. At no point in the Bible were tithes received from earned wages and it evident money was widely traded and wages were paid during those times.

I will give according to my heart because that is what he wants a cheerful giver. If I am given a certain amount of percetage amount and I dont feel like giving it because I had so many obligations that wouldn't give me a cheerful heart. I would give more than what the church or the bible wants as long as I am able and is glad to do it.

Your salvation is in your tithe? Where does the Bible say that? Where did Jesus say to pick up every crum? This prosperity teachings are dangerous, using truth/scripture to promote for financial success instead for holiness, this is dangerous. Jesus wants repentance (Matthew 11:20, read full chapter), financial wealth shouldn't be your goal, wealth is very dangerous many face dangerous temptations because of their pursuit for wealth (1 Timothy 6:9-11, read the whole book of Timothy). Pursue God and holiness to worship Him (1 and 2 Peter). Everything God did for Israel was for them to be able to worship Him (Exodus 8:1). Please let us read our Bible in full context. Otherwise we are left to worship money and ourself (we may think we worship God but it's our ambitions, status and comfort we love the most).

Congregations just are looking for excuses to do whatever they want to do, just like tithing… there was never a tithe for money… back when there was a tithe, it was tithing livestock/ goods/ etc… it was not tithing money… so if you giving 10% of your money to the minister then you’re being fooled and extorted. And yes you must be baptized to make it in to heaven, you can’t say a prayer and make it in…

So you remember the woman who gave a little bit of money and Jesus she gave more than everyone because she gave almost all she had. This is Jesus connecting money to Tithing. Also, remember when Jesus said give unto Ceasar what is Ceasar and give to God what is God's. That was about money as well.

@@louissolomon2703 There's nothing in the passage of the widows mite that connects money to tithing. She was submitting an offering, not a systematic (required) tithe. Jesus told this story to emphasize how the less fortunate were being extorted. And Jesus was making a distinction between that which is material (money) as government issued, and that which is spiritual (morality) in Matthew 22. Neither God nor Jesus ever asked anyone for their money.

Throughout the whole message he kept saying tithing is giving 10% of EVERYTHING you have, and gave special examples. Of you have 10 pairs of shoes, one belongs to God…there’s 24 hours in a day, 2hrs 40 minutes belong to God. His focus was not primarily on money alone….even when tithing with money, you can sow a seed into someone. Doesn’t necessarily have to be in a temple, and like the Word says, for the least you do these for, you do it unto Me (God)
