Glad you liked it! I'm not an artist, so it was very difficult getting it to a stage where I was happy with how it looked, but I think I got it looking decent in the end. (also Paint.NET crashed like 90% of the way through making it and I had to restart from scratch, which was _...fun._ But eh, I think my second attempt turned out better anyway so maybe it's for the best).

Truthfully I didn’t even realize this was sequenced in the first place, much less compressed as if it was a cartridge game.

GameCube discs could only hold a max of like 1.5GB, MKDD is about 460MB in size, if they had CD quality pre recorded audio it would of probably been too big to fit, Super Mario Sunshine also uses sequenced music even if it doesn't seem like it, in fact a lot of GameCube games use sequenced music as it appears Nintendo prioritized actual game data rather than audio quality but if GameCube did use regular DVDs like PS2 and Xbox the music would of probably sounded this good back in the day, what's weird though is how Mario Kart Wii also does sequenced music despite Wii discs being able to hold up to 8GB to my knowledge, which is super fucking massive compared to what GameCube discs could do

Only certain songs from this game are able to be restored, only ones which are stored as sequence data. Many songs in this game were streamed, and those are unable to be restored at present, any restoration attempt would just be a very accurate cover.

Most songs are streamed, but a couple of them (the Title Screen theme, Main Menu theme, and the race intro jingles) are sequenced. As for _why_ they're sequenced I have no idea, maybe it's just to save storage space.

Still unfound unfortunately, but I figured since the sample is already pretty high quality it would probably be fine to leave as-is.

How did you play the sequence? (without midi or sf2). normally when I restore music from the N64, DS, I use a sequence player (VG Music Studio) that plays the sdat file ripped from the game so I can use it as a reference for the effects, etc that don't import correctly into Fl Studio.

It's _much_ higher quality than the original version. What _exactly_ are you expecting? Are you expecting it to somehow sound like a live orchestra or something?
