This song was actually their first mission by jyp..they only got 7 days to make the beat,lyrics and choreo,they not even debut yet and 2 of them (felix and lee know) were actually eliminated from the group after the mission,but jyp did gave them second change right before they debut..you should watch stray kids survival show,there are 10 episodes in total

you saw in the mv even though they were taking the "hellevator", they were going up to the penthouse, and that's the whole point of the song. the meaning behind the song is that even though they're having a lot of trials, and troubles with being idols, they still have intentions of rising above it and getting to the top. this was their predebut song with their debut song being district 9. the one singing at 3:22 was han jisung, stage name just han, he's their main rapper, as I said, they're multitalented. this song can also have a meaning of depression and feeling hopeless. and one of the lead rappers, hyunjin (4:15) was told by other trainees that he was only in stray kids/jyp was because of his looks and not because he was talented. so he trained hard to prove them wrong, and now he's main dancer and lead rapper

this is their very first song (self produced btw, and they were 16-20 yrs old at the time). still one of my favorites :) im glad you focus on the lyrics too, its so important with stray kids, they talk about their own experiences and they take pride in their honesty. i cant remember if you've already reacted to TXT or not, but they're a younger group under Bighit (BTS' label), and they just came out with a new music video for "Eternally", its 19 minutes long- more of a short film, its literally the most beautiful music video i've ever seen. you should definitely check it out!! it'll blow your mind.
