I love the way you talked about that painting having two focal points and then they argue with each other. I agree that getting away from a painting gives you fresh eyes. Same with recording and mixing music. Sometimes leaving the mix for a few days you get a fresh ear on what the problem is. Love spending our Friday evenings in your creative and calm presence. And we paint when the video is done!!! It’s part of our Friday routine. Thank you!!!!!!!’

It is so helpful to hear you talk of problems in your paintings and to hear that you set them aside for a while so you can look at them later with fresh eyes. You make painting look so effortless, I appreciate learning that you actually have your difficulties, too.

Such an inspiration. Love the way you explain about your paintings, and your thought processes behind how you are going to improve on them. Thank you for sharing.

I used to use gum strip for stretching paper, but I never thought to use it like you do to attach the painting to the mount to keep it in place initially! Thank you for all the things you share 🤗🙏

Is the new house portrait for friend Wijnand? Am so happy to have found your serie of interviews with him, am watching one every day and am getting so much insights and aha-moments..was really frozen for quite some time and it never occured to me how much anxiety plays a role in it. So am very grateful you and Wijnand gave this gift. And this video was also wonderful, thank you.

I understand 100% what you are saying about the answer for a problem from a piece of art will come natural and sometimes with no time in stake. I'm a digital and traditional artist and I will find myself with a waiting game sometimes and in many times I enjoy the Proces.

I think it Is very common when we are painting and we get tired of leaving then looking at then for a while and then finding the problems . Is your watercolor of the bridge whith the yellow awring the same one that was Orange in another video? I had suggested that you tone it down. It's the same watercolor?
@TitusMeeuws3 ай бұрын
Hi Maria, I made two paintings of that bridge. I love that subject

I was asked to do a commission in coloured pencil. I agreed but to be honest I'm not enjoying it as much as when I do my own thing. Do you feel the same when accepting commisions?
@TitusMeeuws3 ай бұрын
I love to work on commissions. I do it for more than 80%
