@@omegamaximus1727then you’re missing all of the fun, because mainline Optimus 10x more fun than ss102… mainline Mirage? Could use a head swap, but much nicer toy. Fun to transform, doesn’t have Porsche crap hanging off everywhere. Mainline Wheeljack? He’s great! You do what makes you happy, but the movie line, like most movie lines in the past, is good. It’s actually good, and so many people are skipping them because of bad distribution and simultaneous releases. 😅

I felt the BW reissues suffered from a poor mentality behind it. It seems like they were thinking "If these first waves sell well, it'll show there's enough interest in the line to make more" And they completely forgot that, unlike G1, only a quarter of the BW toyline actually appeared in the show. So the likes of Cybershark and Iguanus was never going to sell well. It always felt like the line was doomed from the start.

I feel something that would have helped a bit more in terms of reissuing BW figures that weren’t apart of the show would have been to reissue some of the Fuzors, lead by Silverbolt and Quickstrike. The Fuzors had some fun and wild animal designs and robot modes (for the most part). Fuzors could have garnered more attention not just from adults who grew up with BW but also garnered attention from kids new to the franchise. Of course the safer route would have been to reissue all of the characters and designs that appeared in the show first before trying with the characters that didn’t show up. But I personally think Fuzors would have been more fun than guys like Cybershark or Retrax. They could have also tried releasing some Transmetals early on as well to better help.

And they came out right at the same time as their Kingdom counterparts. I distinctly remember Cheetor and Rattrap cluttering the shelves for months. And then Tigatron joined his mold-mate to a lesser extent. I would have bit on Cybershark but that toy never showed up in my area.

You're right. But as for me, my reason for not buying these reissues is the fact that Legacy is continuing the Beast Wars releases. So, I'm just being overly optimistic that they'll release modern BW figures; ergo, removing the need for me to buy reissues. Like, for instance, they could easily retool Dilophocon into a modern Iguanus or a Croc Megatron, if they want to.

On #3, I’ve thought about the exact same thing for years. Cyberverse had a terrible toyline as well. I think it’s on purpose. The kids growing up with these toys will age into collectors who will be clamoring for accurate toys of characters who never had any. Sounds nefarious but I could believe it

The thing with reactivate is that we shouldn't try to pressure companies and devs to show info or release the game. If we do, our Silksong is going to turn into our Cyberpunk with it being unfinished due to people begging to have the game released and companies trying to rush to meet demands. So many games in the last few years have fell victim to this with companies rushing games leading to buggy messes on launch. They'll show it when they want to show it, no need to clamour for content.

If Hasbro felt Reactivate wasn't ready to be shown, then they shouldn't have publicly revealed it a year ago and created false expectations that had no chance of being met. People wouldn't be as antsy for news if they didn't know the game even existed outside of vague leaks. No one wants the game to be rushed and turn out bad, I and others just want to know a bit more on what the game is actually about, because that reveal trailer sure didn't do much to show the main idea of the game.

Stuff arriving way too early than projected has screwed me over MULTIPLE TIMES this year, and I have now stopped pre-ordering anything to avoid surprise fees. I would rather pay a few extra bucks for a figure on eBay later rather than have my money vanish when I need it for more important bills.

Regarding point 3. The lack of care to their kids line really just tells you that Hasbro is lying when they say most people who buy toys are kids. Because if that were true then why are they putting so much focus on their collectors lines that are aimed at teens and adults? And the ones they are putting out are so low effort that no kids want them.

For me, the biggest disappointment was just the distribution and the rampant scalping. I've ENTIRELY MISSED OUT ON PRETTY MUCH THE ENTIRE ROTB CORE AND STUDIO SERIES LINE because they pretty much NEVER Showed up in ANY stores where I'm at I've only seen Studio Series Airazor.. *_ONCE_* Literally O N C E

Hear, hear. The only times the shops in my city restocked this year were when the movie premiered and now in November/December. And even then it's mostly with the gimmicky kid stuff; I had to look really far just to find a handful of Generations/Studio Series, and the Earthspark Deluxes only arrived last month.

I'm so glad you brought up the issues of product shipping earlier than expected. It's even worse when it's a limited preorder product that can't be reordered after cancelling it, so you have no choice but to let the transaction happen. If I can afford an early delivery, yippee, but I have no problem waiting for toys.

I sort of feel the Rise of the Beasts thing, albeit for different reasons. I like the movie (it's the most solid 7 out of 10 movie I can think of), but it made me feel like I wanted more out of it, especially with the Maximal cast. Primal was good and I especially liked Airazor, but I would've liked to have gotten more out of Cheetor and especially Rhinox. It's why I'm interested in seeing a potential director's cut of the movie. 2023 was also just not a good year for Hollywood in general, given the writer's and actors strikes, causing a lot of movies to not get much promotion. June was also stacked with Across the Spider-Verse, RotB, Flash, and Indy 5. RotB has its flaws, but it didn't deserve to get slammed like it did (at least not as much).

I think it just shows that Hasbro is doing way too much. They have a monopoly on too many toy brands. Juggling power rangers, marvel, transformers, and GI Joe I feel like is enough to break them at this point. I just noticed the other day shopping that there's not much representation for My Little Pony on the shelves anymore. They have WAY too much to do. They need to start compartmentalizing and upscaling their departments

First Decee of Transformers if I was in charge is to put an end to the kid lines being gimmicky crap since Prime's whimper of a closure and just scrap those crappy figures all together in exchange for putting the budget for them towards the figures that need it. Seriously, who's buying the One Step Changers and those other gimmicky figures that will be found in charity shops a while later? Hasbro thinks it's okay to half ass their kid-aimed toylines just because they think they're stupid. Never mind the fact that getting ahold of real Transformers figures are a pain in the ass at retail because a lot of them don't even get the good ones in stock.

@@rayvenkman2087 I'm not saying I disagree with the kid lines being annoying, but as someone who's worked in retail for the last 6 years, I can tell you that at the very least in my area, the kid lines sell better than the collectors lines. Cyber verse flew off the shelves, but we basically skipped all the earthrise waves because the first wave took so long to sell that it went to clearance and was replaced by kingdom.

I would love to see the kids lines shown at Livestream Events but I think they don’t do it due to the rudeness of the chat users. They are constantly belittling the Hasbro staff over not showing the item they wanted to see, and I feel like they fear the chat going feral if they were to see a “kids toy”

Possibly, though I think the bigger issue is that these lines are just so cheap these days that I honestly don't blame folks(within reason, you certainly know how toxic the internet can get) being vocally disappointed if they bring that crap out as a major reveal. As TJ said, for some reason they just aren't prioritizing the cartoon lines the way they used to and it shows really badly in the designs. It doesn't work great for kids either, but for collector crowds only one or two toys PER SERIES tend to end up being worth anyone's time, and even then it's usually figures like Nightshade which come with a major asterisk due to simplicity and a clearly rock-bottom budget. It'd be genuinelyfrustrating to see them waste our time like that. Until they fix that, I don't think they can really do anything to address the more genuinely toxic aspects of the fandom when a 'kids line' figure gets hyped.

Distribution is bad, but I have no problem with figures releasing early. I have more of a problem with figures that are way too hard to find or figures that are out of stock almost immediately. If you preordered more than you could afford, that's kind of on you.

I've been very content with this year, really. Characters who I never thought I'd see in Generations got proper figures (Lio Convoy, Animated Prowl, IDW2 Bludgeon, and Toxitron say hi), I was pleasantly surprised by some figures (see SS Galvatron and Evolution Axlegrease), and ROTB was a flawed but ultimately very fun film. But I'd be lying if I said everything went well in 2023. EarthSpark is trapped in streaming hell and isn't selling toys like Hasbro hoped it would (I keep seeing gluts of Wave 1 stuff on shelves refusing to move). ROTB's mainline was a distribution nightmare (what I'd give to see mainline Airazor sold on her own instead of being trapped with two garbage figures in a Target-exclusive three-pack) and was missing key characters (seriously, where's mainline Battletrap?). Gamer Edition (minus Optimus) and the majority of the SS ROTB figures (minus Bumblebee, Battletrap, Prime, Primal, and Noah's Exo-Suit) have been compromised in some form.

That is so frustrating. Not only do they don't know what to do with the brand they're also being very cheap with it. The Cosmic Fury suits were originally more detailed but had to be reduced because Hasbro wanted them to be cheap and bland enough to make easy action figures. It's also why they didn't want to do Kyuranger because they were too cheap on making all those unique molds for each ranger. If that's how they're gonna handle PR if they want to be original then I'm not excited for the brand's future.

Your only prayer for getting a Tarn is if Hasbro decides to reissue it in the near future. We can pretty much confirm that you can no longer get Tarn in stores or at Hasbro’s site. Only after markets sell him now, and not for preferable prices. I was lucky to find one singular copy of Tarn in one specific Target. I have never seen any other copy of Tarn in any nearby retail since.

Chuckle, wait until you see it in a normal store... Yeah, I decided to do that with a few figures in Legacy Evolution. Guess what wave I never saw? So now they are on preorder on BBTS, who basically go "Well next month I guess" for who knows how long, making the massive sudden bank account issue even more of a gamble. And let's not even get started on Velocitron and Toxitron's distribution, and everything ending at Ross raising a bunch of questions there.

For me it's the opposite with distribution as none of the items ever get released, Walmart still has nothing but legacy wave 1 on shelves and I am still waiting for my legacy Breakdown to come in and has now been almost 2 years since I preordered him. Hasbro pulse is one of the weirdest online shop ever created, you would think that the same company that manufacture these toys would have the most in stock. Nope, there constantly out of stock especially with exclusives and there extremely expensive when all the tax and shipping are added up making it nearly doubled the price it was supposed to be at. This has got to be the worst year for transformers in a long time.

One thing I've learned about pre-orders put them on a card that you know won't go through and when they message you that the payment didn't go through you can chose to process it with a new card or let them cancel it until you're ready to buy it and pray it doesn't become htf

I'd rather have no updates on Reactivate and know they are putting the work on it to make it actually good than have an Hytales situation (the minecraft like game) where they started advertizing about it way too soon and noone knows about the game anymore. Let them take their time and have a not rushed game for once. It's good news tbh.

Rise of the Beasts was really disappointing. I was hopeful, but the advertisements made it very clear what it was going to be -- a Bay movie with the Maximals in place of the Dinobots. It should've been such a slam dunk but they just fumbled it. When I finally got around to seeing it, I was bored out of my mind, at least when I was annoyed with how they handled the Maximals. The distribution issue here in Australia is amazingly bad. Studio Series Ironhide only started showing up on shelves a few months ago, so I just consider him a 2023 toy and put him on my top figures list. We still haven't gotten wave 2 of Earthspark, probably not helped with how badly they sold.

+ There have been a bunch of those Beast War Reissues sitting at my local Big W (Australia's Walmart) for nearly the entire year. No one wants them...especially considering how expensive they are. + In Australia Big W has stopped stocking the Core class entirely. JB HiFi is the only place I can find the Core Class. + That Hatchet looks great. I hope he does eventually get released.

My biggest disappointment with the Flex Changers is that I was expecting a different, (in my opinion) better gimmick: something more like the Bend'N'Flex Marvel figures. In hindsight, it'd probably not fit a lot of the characters (unless they for some reason included Claw Jaw or Cohrada), but it'd still be better than "another automorph toy only this time with a rubber band". Also, "wait until the figures are in stores". Excuse me while I go laugh-cry in the corner.

Walmart is bad for nearly anything but Leaders (then again, I've only seen 86 Snarl once in my area and that came home with me) and the Toxitron Collection. (ironically except for Toxitron, G2 Grimlock, and G2 Dead End) I'm still shocked that they're stocking 86 Brawn around here.

Everything about their distribution sucks. It makes no sense. From Tarn being impossible to find, to Cosmos being impossible to find then showing up at Ross for $7.99. Menasor characters in short supply, and you need 5 of them. Where is Motormaster? I could go on and on.

The reverse for unpaid preorders coming in early - prepaid preorders that don't get fulfilled for months, with arrival dates pushed back! And when ordered in a batch that's supposed to ship together for free, only for a couple of the pieces to come in and basically sit in their warehouse for months on end because the rest of the order isn't in yet, even though KZbinrs have had these -missing- figures in hand for months by this point! Urgh.

I feel like ROTB was sabotaged by executive meddling. We know it was two scripts smooshed together at executive request, and there seemed to be a lot of concepts that got cut or taken out. It also didn't help it was stuck in development hell with a different special effects studio. It feels like a lot of boxes ticked off by Suits who wouldn't care what the final product was, and i feel so bad for the cast and crew; they probably tried to do the best they could, and while personally ROTB is better than most of the other movies, its not by much.

I would just preorder the ones I know for certainty will sell out in high demand, and/or return the NIBs much to the inconvenience of everyone. Amazon could add an option to ship preorders exactly on you desired date up to a week or so from its initial date.

While in my opinion Generations has been thriving it's disheartening to see nearly every other aspect of transformers dying a slow death. Earthspark is one of the best cartoons since Prime and Animated, but the toys and marketting are lackluster, Rise of the Beasts was ultimately a bit disappointing compared to how Bumblebee tried to give a fresh start, and the marketting for that film was worse, and the game is in limbo. The preorder problem is why I'm so glad I'm so picky about the Transformers I purchase. I've currently got SS concept Megatron and Rumble pre-ordered and I'd love it if they came in 2 months earlier because I have no other Transformers that are taking that part of my budget right now so I can pay for them the minute they say they're shipping.

It's funny how I've encountered a lot of people who think that ROTB Movie is bad say things like "They should let Michael Bay direct the movies again!" Michael Bay was a producer for ROTB. And from what I've heard, he had a lot of say regarding the designs and the movie's direction. Every single Bayverse film involved this played-out McGuffin-driven plot, so NO, PEOPLE. We don't need Michael Bay in this franchise.

The only reasons I can think of as to why Nightshade was prioritized over Hashtag, Thrash, and Soundwave is because 1) they've got a unique design and the HasTak engineers did something quite nice with them, 2) Hasbro knows that having Grimlock as a wavemate would help the newbie sell the same way Bumblebee and Megatron helped Twitch sell, and 3) (and this is the most cynical reason) Hasbro released them now before any conservative-to-moderate backlash regarding their gender could taint sales of EarthSpark toys later.

Distribution IS horrible, but early shipping is far from the worst problem, if you live outside of the US or the precious few countries Hasbro likes like Canada or the UK, you're screwed, I live in Mexico, we get practically NONE of the store exclusives, we don't have Targets, we don't have Walgreens and while we do have Walmarts, they hardly ever stock any of the exclusives and even they do, it's never all of them but well, that shouldn't surprise me WHEN TO THIS DAY, *_NOTHING FROM LEGACY HAS HIT THE SHELVES AT ALL_* EFFECTIVELY MAKING THE ENTIRE LEGACY TOYLINE AN AMAZON EXCLUSIVE. we don't get Core Class at all since the first Studio Series wave is still clogging the shelves, we only got some waves of Kingdom, we only got the very first wave of Earthrise and nothing. else. we got some Siege waves, not the Spinister one though! The fact that EVERYTHING is around 40% more expensive at retail doesn't help.

Despite being very tired of having to hear about ROTB's problems, almost all of this is stuff that needed to be said (especially about Earthspark), but I have a problem with the stock problem part of the video. Like there's a bunch of stuff that's hard to get now like SS ROTB Prime and Legacy Tarn, a bunch of Legacy Y1 figures have been shelfwarming for so long it's hard to find new figures and while I've gotten good at finding them, I've ended up having occurrences where I end up getting the last one of something, which to me is too much of a close call and it means no one else in my area can get one. And then there's figures like Battletrap, SS86 Magnus, and Nova Prime, which used to be easy to get at one point, but after 1-2 months are all gone and the only other listings have extremely high price hikes, and here you are talking about getting figures too early. That is also a legitimate part of stock issues but it's more just retailers need to fix their dates because they put them too far out and then ship them out at a different time. My advice is that you usually can figure out who's shipping it out earlier through word of mouth or accounts on social media that report on that and buy the figures then. I usually only pre-order figures when I want them the moment they ship out or I'm not too confident I'll be able to find it in stores, but I can tell that's not your kind of lifestyle, hope this helps.

I'm fortunate enough to live in Canada so I have at least 5 Toys R Us's in my area, and a crapload of Walmarts, but even then, unless you're willing to drive for hours in traffic, finding figures you want in the wild is really a hit and miss kinda thing, I've been looking to complete Legacy Menasor, and all I found was 2 of the Stunticons at this time! It's either they don't get enough Transformers shipments or some dumb*ss is hoarding all of the good ones and re-selling them 3 times the price! And we are stuck with Wave 1 Transformers on the pegs for months, it's just unfair, Hasbro needs to really work harder on their shipement issues for stores, not just online purchases, some of us do still like going to stores to find what they are looking for.

ROTB mainline Optimus is genuinely one of the best Voyager Optimii. He's Earthrise Prime minus the BS proportions and barebones trailer and plus a more involved transformation and improved articulation.

I don't even preorder. I literally just look for figures in store because Hasbro keeps raising their prices so I can't even afford to get all of the figures I would want. Everything is double the the prices they use to be a couple years ago. And the distribution is still terrible. My local Wal Mart has had the exact same wave 1 Earthspark deluxes ever since the toy line first launched. They have wave 5 of the Warrior class but not the Deluxe class. You'd think they'd at least order wave 2 because Optimus Prime is in that wave but no every single time I'm in Wal Mart it's just Wave 1. I actually had to go to a different Wal Mart in another county to find Nightshade and I got Optimus Prime sent to me by another KZbinr. I also still have not seen Optimus Primal in stores anywhere. I see Rhinox shelf warming 3 different Wal Marts and 2 different Targets but not a single Optimus Primal anywhere. And I don't understand how Reactivate figures are showing up in stores already so soon after they were announced but we're still waiting on figures to show up that we've known about for over a year. Granted that's not all Hasbro's fault, stores have to order the stock from Hasbro but it still makes no logical sense why they keep ordering the same figures that have been shelf warming for MONTHS but don't order the more in demand figures that everyone is having a hard time even finding.

I'm sorry, but I 100% disagree with TJ and all who complain about preordering stuff and have to pay for it when it becomes available early. DON'T SPEND MORE THAN WHAT YOU MAKE! If you got finances coming up and want the new toy pre-order, why not make sure you $$$ to pay for one, the other, or both, before you commit to spending your hard earn cash for them? If you can't afford it then don't commit to it.

I'm tired of Twitch figures like some of the Earthspark could be rally cool like Nightshade and Thrash are great figures. But OMG I want a Earthspark Arcee! She is such a cool design, along with Frenzy, tarantulas and Soundwave. This line desperately needs less gimmicks and more just good representation of the shows more interesting character design.

Distribution. New Zealand got lucky with the Rise of the Beasts mainline, but that's it. Legacy Evolution Wave 1 dropped ages ago and then nothing, until the Warehouse got some old regular Legacy stuff in, but that's it. Nothing new from Studio Series either. You want the other 4 Core Dinobots who aren't in Wave 1? "Hahahahaha ahahahahaha, you serious?" And then I preorder them from BBTS because the damn NZD is so ridiculously low that getting them anywhere else is house-mortgaging, except despite Swoop and Scarr being due in July they're still not in, never mind about Snarl. Month after month after month they get pushed back with absolutely no sign of stock fulfillment. It's damn infuriating and it really kills the hype for reveals because why get excited for figures I'm never going to be able to obtain without paying like triple the already-high regular price?

The Bay movies may not had great plots or writing, but the character designs were bold, interesting, and refreshing. Rise of the Beasts doesn't have bold designs, or a great plot. It is just mediocre through and through. Even the SS Prime toy sucks, with is giant blue leg kibble on the back of the truck. The Bumblebee movie SS Prime is way better.

Unreal Engine 5 is a hardware sapping mess that chugs even with the most powerful user end hardware, and most of the game developed under it run like crap and often have crashing issues. They most likely moved to UE5 as part of an incentive from Epic Games, to get into their "ecosystem" of UE5 developement, basically cutting them a deal to use their newest engine even if it really isn't ready for games yet. It's really only built for movie making rn.
