wly stands for Wally Traugott, who was the head mastering engineer at Capitol. He is known for dynamic, full and rich bass depth. He also mastered Band on the Run and Dark Side of the Moon.

My remastered cd version of that first Boston album is amazing. I'm still waiting for a proper remaster of "Third Stage"

Great video and GREAT album!! This is just a great sounding recording to begin with. I have the more recent issue of this album on vinyl and it sounds great! I also have an original CD of Boston as well as the original SACD. I might do a comparison of my own.

Rock on! If you do, I would love to hear your comparison.

Wly probably mastered by Wallace Edward Traugott...a Capitol Records in-house engineer. Five bucks?? OK, now I'm just jealous.

LOL. It was on of those once in a lifetime yard sales.

Just passed on a promo of this album this past Sunday cause it wasn't a white label, should I go back and pick it up? Lol

I honestly don't know much about promo records. But I think (maybe) you were making a joke that I am to dense to understand?

Orange Capitol Label? You might want to look again. I prefer the original CD pressing myself.

Hang on to your original vintage analogue pressings.. it has just come to light that most modern vinyl reissues are digitally sourced, which kind of defeats the purpose for me, given how expensive vinyl is. Cd revival?
