can someone from Thailand or knows Thai culture answer why don't Thai fisherman chase the fish near the piers or temples since there are so many being fed? is there a reason? i see some fish being fed near a boat pier.? ive tried to find many searches and travel blogs but no answer.

people release fish in temple areas to create positive karma so these areas are stricly no-fishing as the monk will get mad.
