I have a TK-880H, the H just means High power (40 watts). Programming depends on the version, ie; V1.0, V2.0,V4.2, etc.

Hello, I just received my first TK-880 via ebay & Colorado. Can I ask you how do you adjust the following in the V2 software? 1) Squelch level 2) TX Power level 3) TX Modulation level I have gone through the options and cannot find these functions anywhere....... Cheers, Gary Adelaide, Australia.

you can get the program free online, the trick is to find a verification code to use the program.

Hello, Could I ask you how do you go about installing updated firmware? I tried programming my TK-880 H V2 but its saying I need a firmware update. I now have the 028 0ADE firmware files in my PC. However how do I go about writing them into the radio? Hope you can help......

Which version number did you program? I have a bunch of Version 2 40W radios that I recently acquired. I've got one of the DOS versions of the software…just waiting on a programming cable (unfortunately, my Icom and Motorola cables won't work with Kenwoods).

LOL nope Motorola cables surely won't work with Kenwoods :)

Nope. But a Motorola RIB with a Radius pigtail can be used in a pinch to program stuff that used the Icom OPC-592. To this day Kenwood is one of the only manufacturers who hasn't hopped on the USB band wagon.

I used a data port connector I bought from kawamall. It was just install the program, plug the radio in and select the read data from radio and that is about all there is to it.

I might have the same interface. I get the PROGRAM message then I get an error message with the software. Never reads the data. Any help would be appreciated. What version software are you using? I have KPG49D but it only runs in DOS. I also have KPG-60D. But give me the PROGRAM message then I get an error in the software.

I have two tk 880 and one tk 780 and all three are FPP or field programable and have release tone or roger beep.

You can use 'Self program mode' if its been enabled via a PC but you have to delete 'R614' from the TX/RX board (B2). I'm doing this myself soon.

@@garynewton1263 is there a way to programm squelch settings to buttons, so i can set the squelch in a easy way by pressing buttons while i am listening or do a QSO? as the TK-880 / TK-780 has no squelch knob built in like normal radios. Just like the volume buttons controls the volume directly up and down, i look for a way to do it like that for the squelch. Vy 73,55 DC2NI

hey man, what are the scan capabilities of one of these, I know on the 840s you only get 16, is this similar or can you scan every channel in a group? and can you do scan lists? I'm toying with the idea of replacing a couple of my 840's with these

Good question. I've just purchased a TK-880 from ebay coming from Colorado. I believe you can have scan lists, I think 15 or 16 channels per list or scan group? Gary, Australia.
