I just went and watched 4 other videos straight, and he played different characters in each video. For some reason that in itself was educational along with entertaining, instead of watching other you tubers who only play one character and give their perspective from that one character in every video.
@capnbarky26824 жыл бұрын
I forget which video it was but Anakin once said "You only need 3 rounds to win, first 2 losses can just be downloading." That really stuck with me, there really isn't pressure until you're down two rounds if you're mindful and observing your opponent.
@MrOzzification4 жыл бұрын
Yeah there's another saying from Nin way back in the day. He told Knee that, "if you haven't downloaded your opponent by the end of the 2nd round then forget about winning. You've already lost" That's why top level players are so quick at adapting and barely ever fall for the same thing twice.
@WeMissDimebag4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I’ve found it makes a huge difference in my gameplay to relax a bit. Remember that as long as there’s HP in your life bar, you can still win. So chill, keep HP in the bar; and take your time. No reason to risk getting blown up.

I’d watch your replays and notice any habits you have or patterns. For example I have a bad habit of engaging with a low or df1. Or I have a bad habit of trying to force a crouch mix up too often even if they’re aren’t working

I don't really watch replays in Tekken, but back when I'm half-serious in DOTA2, I would wait for a couple of days before watching replays. Just so I can forget what and why I did stuffs, and figure it out again. It's easier to call yourself out when you forget the justifications.

Whenever I downloaded my opponent during a set, once I get to the promo match, they play completely differently (either much more defensively or offensively) and everything I downloaded blows up in my face (since I always expected them to do what they always did before). How do you deal with players completely changing their play styles on a promo match?
@LoneStarVII4 жыл бұрын
I think it's general practice to assume people play slightly different during promo/demos.
@07citychamp4 жыл бұрын
Assume that other players are like you tbh, don't just think they are going to play the exact same way even after a loss. Most people will try to adjust, just confirm on the reads you can.

People tend to do their most dirty stuff when they low hp like hellsweeps , rage arts , hopkicks after strings , so panic buttons come in handy by that time

@@terencema6714 While I agree with you on the efficiency, I also agree with the other poster. A well known TEKKEN player/commentator/streamer Aris once asked a Korean Pro ( I forget who exactly atm) how long it takes to be decent on a competitive level. His response was 2 years. And that's 2 years of a Korean regimen where they take games very VERY seriously.
@MIGGYME14 жыл бұрын
DeadEndzMusic i heard that too but i think thats an exaggeration. If u put the time in id say a year MAX but u got to put in serious effort and u definitely gotta be going to events playing different people and not just spammers on a shitty netcode.
@DeadEndzMusic4 жыл бұрын
@@MIGGYME1 MIGGYME1 MIGGYME1 Yeah if you had a good local (offline) scene with cool people for teachers... and you were watching tournaments and reading up on the game during the time you WEREN'T playing then yeah, a year. But driving to the local back and forth may take an hour alone. To really familiarize yourself with the game, and be comfortable in it, takes nothing other than time spent. Once you stop saying things to yourself like ( What the fuck is that string/I've never seen that move in my life/Is that a mid, high or low/ etc.) Takes a very very long time. There is almost 50 characters now, there is no way every character is represented at your local. You're going to have to go online and pray you finally see a bob/bear/gigass to get any experience on them. That takes a bunch of time, who knows when you will get matched with them. Point is, 1 hour a day is not enough to be COMPETITIVE but if you just want to go online and play your favorite character, maybe spend a bit of time in the lab here and there that's fine too. TEKKEN is fun at all levels of play!

So remember everything someone did in a round and be able to recall all of it instantly even if they start doing something completely different. And be able to make actual reads and not guesses. Not the most useful advice. I get what he's trying to say, but having an idea of what someone is going to do and being able to something about it are two different things.
@TkAnakin4 жыл бұрын
Everything? No. Remember the things that stuck out to you and make educated guesses. Learn as you go. It's not rocket science. Some people just sit there and play the same way every round. This video gives them something to think about more often

Anakin facts i actually did this yesterday and OMG i got the read and got a perfect on my opponent of course i lost but that moment i was trying to download my opponent.
@TheDiamondSkye4 жыл бұрын
Gotta keep in mind that anakin is only giving you a piece of the puzzle. When downloading its more than "just this or that." There's understanding what your opponent will do after a poke (df1, generic d4), there's interesting their timing in situation after they poke or want plus frames on block. Try to look at it from his perspective-- he's showing you one side of this large puzzle for you to put together. His other videos also help in understanding your opponent to "download."
