15:51 I scoured all the reviews of this Honor phone, but I still can't believe that TK is the only person (and I do mean THE ONLY person) that covers Magic Desktop Mode. Everyone else mostly talks about the camera and the display only.

Honor has been doing a really good job with improvements and refinements and all of their flagships. I hope that in their next flagship they'll start using the one inch sensor

After many years of using my v20, I want to get another honor but with no headphones jack, IR blaster plus the front camera on the side, I am having a hard time upgrading my phone. Still love the desktop mode.

Took the plunge and received mine today. I'm getting 5G here in MD. I installed Nova Launcher and everything is perfect. The in hand feel puts the S23 Ultra and iPhone 14 shame. I'm getting the same feeling when I used the Huawei Mate 20. Honor hit a grand slam with this.

It's a great device, the pictures look great and even when i was able to notice the quality difference between the 4k front and rear cameras, still pretty good front facing camera. Great review my friend

Great review! Is the finger print sensor optical or ultrasonic and was the screen readable in direct sunlight? Not being able to read notifications on a pull down is just weird imo

Yes the fingerprint sensor is optical and outdoor visibility was actually pretty good but this way gets pretty bright. I will say if you are wearing polarizing glasses that will affect the readability of it

Recent subscriber because of my interest in the device, so thanks for being one of the few tech reviewers to deliver it so eloquently! Does seem to be the most LG type phone I've seen since their demise, even down to the use of the front ToF sensor for gesture control! Here in the UK it seems a really good buy, less than $900 and with free watch, free headphones and 6 months screen protection. Might just hang to see what the pixel 8 pro offers in terms of camera performance as it is rumoured to use the same sensor.

To correct your info, the face ID does not need light. Its a 3D face unlock therefore uses infrared camera and true depth camera for advanced recognition in the dark.

Can I ask you to do me a favour please? I tried testing the RAW format in Pro mode on this phone and the photos are useless. I think this feature doesn't work at all. The photos have the incorrect resolution and size. I think it's a software issue. Could you please check on your Magic 5 Pro?

I want to be able to use this in the United States on CDMA. I imagine it's GSM only. Plus I'm not sure if US Mobile has Honor blacklisted. Heck, if I know how to use a UK charger in the United States, too. But I would LOVE to import this!

Android chargers are universal. You can get 1 with a US Pin plug and plug in the honor magic 5 pro to charge it

Yes they do on TMobile, the main thing is to make sure to have the right APN configuration once you get the phone

When it comes to photography I still feel like the pixel 7 Pro is a little bit better but on the video side definitely the magic 5 Pro edges out if you're looking at it as an entire combination of performance and feature set I still think the magic 5 Pro is a better buy

Yeah it's great. Work's in complete darkness. I turn off the fingerprint as the face unlock works 100% and always beats the fingerprint for speed.

2:22 I'm not sure why you're surprised. Did you not research the specs of the phone for the script and see that it has 3D Face scans just like iPhones? That camera is a 3D Time of flight camera, essentially the same thing as Apple Face ID. That's why it works in the dark. It's not surprising at all.

I'm aware of how well it's supposed to work it doesn't change the fact that it is surprising and refreshing to be able to enjoy Tech when it works the exact way it was supposed to. not every phone has it. For somebody that has not used a 3D TOF sensor before this would be a helpful feature to point out. I hope you enjoyed the rest of the video

I miss the Huawei/Honor style of devices (I own a P40 and baby it). This year the cameras at the high end are killing it. Great review, TK. Looks like a great bang for buck in Europe if you don't want to import a Find X6 Pro/ Vivo X90 or you find the Huawei P60 pro/Xiaomi 13 Pro too expensive.
