on the "start" function how can i make it still keep the '%' updated?

i'm sure a little more thoughtful styling could make the progress bar an aesthetically pleasing feature, and a little creative coding to make it functional, you don't seem too enthused about it, and i haven't tinkered with TKinters progress bar, but i find in any programming language i used to create them, they are always found wanting, excellent video.

what if i want to place the label inside the progress bar? Or if i want to place it on the moving "filler" of the progress bar? And what if i want the progress text to be updated in real time while the bar is filling up?

Then I think you need to use the .step() method and trigger the step based on the progress of whatever you are monitoring, and then you can update the label with .configure(text = my_progressbar.get() at the same time you apply the .step() for example if you are running something in a for loop you can make the for loop call a method that applies the .step and the label.configure as part of it and then the progress bar would update accordingly (and then you set the speed to align with the number of iterations in the loop or whatever).
