@TheKingofRandom is one of the most popular channels on KZbin with almost 13 million subscribers. But did you know the heartbreaking story behind TKOR?
Grant and Janae Thompson had a picture-perfect relationship. They were both ambitious, had insanely wild dreams, and went after them! They started a KZbin channel called "The King of Random" where Grant would host all kinds of science experiments. Their videos inspired hundreds of millions of people all around the world to explore and learn.
Unfortunately, on July 29, 2019, tragedy struck this amazing couple...
Grant, The King of Random, died in a horrific paragliding accident.
Heartbroken, shattered, and angry, Janae sought to pick her life back up with her boys. After years of struggle and redefining the landscape of her new life, Janae has found hope and passion again.
We are so grateful Grant's wife, Janae was so open with us and shared her powerful story, what life has been like after his death, and updates on TKOR.

I love her she’s been thru a lot to stay strong and trying to hold it together in front of boys it’s tough you can see it in her face. Iv watched there channel for a super long time I loved the vds they did. Not trying to be digsrespecting but I don’t really like how and whoever is took over it’s went a totally different direction. I still miss grant and Nate was awesome and so much like grant I miss him to. Love and hugs to all

Grant helped me a lot when I was in a bad way… his content has helped so many. Best wishes. I’m also sad to see the channel isn’t doing well now 😞 I think a lot of that is due to the type of content that is being made now. I enjoy it a lot but it seems as if a majority of tkor fans don’t unfortunately

She shouldn't have fired Calli and Nate. She killed TKOR, Grant would never have fired Calli and Nate. Its sad how hard her life has been, but she should have taken a step back from the channel and let the employees continue to make decisions instead of being "big boss". R.I.P Grant

They horribly mismanaged that channel after his passing. They went quantity over quality. Firing Cali was not good timing with her coming out weeks before. Firing Nate shortly after was bad decision too. But the absolute worst mistake was the new hosts. They had no presence or connection with the audience. They tanked the show but Nate and Cali was the ones they nuked.

It sucks grants close friend Nate had to leave TKOR cos of creative differences or was fired or whatever cos it’s just a content farm now. I think grant would be sad about Nate having to leave & the state of the channel. Nate original vision is no longer there

Getting a host that is the best, and not trying to make a 'statement for women' would have been better. FORCED crap like this RUINS things. TKOR needs a person with vitality and curiosity and unbridled excitement for all things, or a couple teams to see what dynamic works best. KEEP the ACTIVISM for WOMEN out of it!!! Jeesh. We're all super tired of hearing these kinds of activist phrases. These things aren't real... and they KILL the excitement of the channel, because now we know we are being PREACHED to. Ugh. Horrible decision. Horrible philosophy. Grant did none of this. It was all about the things he was sharing, the science, the whiz-bang 'cool'.
