Just when you think Stelantis couldn't mess it up any worse, they turn screwing the pooch into an art form. These idiots are evidently reading a book on business for dummies and doing the exact opposite of what it says. If Stellantis can't sell EVs or ICE cars, then why are they here? Just because they refuse to pay the fines doesn't mean they have the right to cease production of ICE cars. We want V8s. We want gas powered cars. And if we don't want EVs, Stellantis will have to accept it. As Stellantis is moving Ram production to Mexico, and move Chrysler and Dodge to Canada, and have the EVs produced here, even though we don't want them, it feels like what we want is falling on deaf ears.

TK, no company has ever paid a fin. Those costs are passed through to the end consumer. Long story short as long as the customer is willing to pay the cost of the fines or anything else the product will sell. Clearly Stellantis has hit the point where the customer is unwilling to do that for the products they offer.

There's a lot of EV derangement here. I like EV's... but I don't like THEIR EV's. The 500 is essentially a city toy, and I can't afford two vehicles. I can swing one good one that does as much as possible in one package. So, maybe a hybrid, use EV mode for short trips, then engine up for the long highway, or in the deep winter weeks. Those vehicles exist, but not under Stellantis. If Rhodes manages to bring at least part of the family business into the fold, he should consider a multi-carmaker partnership to accelerate next-gen battery packs that hold charge in the cold, and extend range to average ICE levels.
