Miele appliances like dishwashers, washing machines, tumblers, vaccuum cleaners, and several smaller kitchen and cleaning gadgets are usually really high quality. My parents still have a vaccum cleaner from Miele from 1986, and it still works like a charm. Most repair very easily should a minor part be broken, and they still carry replacement parts from many decades ago in storage. Even the vaccuum bags are standardized to a specific size so you wont have problems finding one brand or another that will still fit that socket. Our washing machines always were Miele and we had exactly THREE washing machines in the life-time of my parents. My dad, born in 1931, my mother born in 1938, so 91 and 83 years old. That should tell you something about the longevity of those devices. Yes, Miele products usually are a bit higher priced, but normally they easily outlast cheaper products by two or even three times their life spans, so in the end the higher starting investment usually pays off over their lifetimes several times over.

unfortunately this is not so true anymore. three times higher prices ast least - lifetime like 1 1/2 only

Thanks for your video. • The 1st syllable in most words is emphasized; re. MER-ce-des, A-di-das, HA-ri-bo, LUF-than-sa. • When learning the ABCs, "V" is pronounced "faow", and "W" is pronounced "vey". • In 🇩🇪, most refer to Volkswagen simply as "VW" (faow vay), in the similar way that most talk about "BMW" (bay em vay) rather than Bayerische Motoren Werke (Bavarian Motor Works). • Mercedes Jellinek's grandfather, Adolf Jellinek, was a prominent rabbi and scholar in mid- to late-19th century Jewish Vienna.

About that Schwarzkopf- thing... Perhaps you remember; the first US- Iraq war, "Operation Dessert Storm" 1991? The leading commander, was a General Norman Schwarzkopf. It is a not so seldom surname in Germany...

quite impressive, that you knew about Carl Benz 🙂

Mercedes, Audi and BMW are very common in Germany but are still considered to be luxury brands in Germany. Although the term premium brand is used mostly. The personal view on this might change with your financial background though. Munich is a very wealthy region.

You're not alone with the ALDI thing. Over here in the UK we have Sainsbury but pretty much everyone calls it Sainsburys
@AJCham Жыл бұрын
Sainsbury's is the correct name. But some people do the same thing with "Tesco's" or "Marks and Spencer's".

15:58 You are refering to Swarovski (glass crystal producer), which is an Austrian brand. It's pronounced like this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:De-at_Swarowksi.ogg ☺

Nike is also wrongly pronounced. The brand name is the name of the Greek goddess of victory, Nike, which is pronounced NEE-keh not Naikee.

Katie you are really good in pronouncing the German words! You could try and learn the language! Also: Feli‘s newest video about the energy crisis is really good! If you are interested.

You were almost right with Swarovski, since it is in German Language, but the company is Austrian (where German (Austrian-German) is the official language). Although Swarovski sounds more "eastlandish" (Hungarian, Russian, Poland, one of the more eastern countries) to us.
