he has the best tone quality i have ever heard on tenor, bari, and any saxophone. sounds like a flute, clarinet, or a stringed instrument most of the time, not a sax. i wouldnt be surprised if major orchestras hired him. he would blend with any instrument in a band or orchestra

I've been listening live and in recordings, classical saxophone has always sounded like that. Composers and arrangers also separate them from the clarinet. What is impressive are the guys that can do glissando from up top and make it sound like a violinist doing glissando. As far as being hired by orchestra it just depends if they have pieces they are playing that require a saxophone. Ravel comes to mind. They are pretty inflexible and won't sub a sax for clarinet. But chamber music wise, they probably would revoice Cello compositions for him.

That was SO beautiful that I changed to my Bose headphones 🎧 and listened a second time. Each time, a part of my soul released stress and relaxed into a quiet, peaceful place of zen and harmony. Thank you both (musicians) for taking me there. I am smiling.

0:39 Just out of curiosity, how much easier is it to play that high E on a tenor sax than on an alto sax?
@frankjuggaloheathen10355 жыл бұрын
Personally I found it equally easy on both tenor and alto. It's a bit hard for me on a soprano sad however.
@mr_jones77685 жыл бұрын
@@frankjuggaloheathen1035 I find that the high D is equally easy on all saxophones (except soprano is hard to get)

High D isn't difficult to hit. It's probably a b*tch to get in tune though.
+Tenor Phone it's a Selmer S90, not sure about the opening. the ligature is probably a Rico H, the revisitation of the old Harrison lig ;)
