Sometimes a person needs to take some responsibility for promoting health in their body and mind rather than asking for healing... eg some are sick and dying because of taking the bread and wine whilst in sin (1 Cor 11:30). Also in the old testament God's people were given practical rules on how to live healthily, washing hands before handling food, which foods were healthy for them, which are potentially unhealthy, avoid sexual promiscuity, don't remain angry and unforgiving etc. And especially not to work 7 days a week! Many people today do not follow God's basic advice on how to live a healthy life, and so are sick. Notice how Daniel and his three friends refused the opulent food and drink of the Kings Court in favour of the God recomended healthy food and as a result they were much more alert and healthy than the other people in the Kings Court! Today's sicknesses are often a result of obesity that comes from a similar unhealthy diet that Kings used to eat, and die from, eg King Henry 8th. Yes ask God for healing when things go wrong, but fewer things would go wrong in our bodies if we daily asked God to lead us into a healthier life style by his wisdom and truth, and by obeying the examples set in scripture by God. Another example: Derek Prince spoke of a lady who asked him to pray fir her back pain. He noticed she wore fashionable high heals and told her to replace them with sensible shoes, and then if her back still hurt he would pray for her.
