@charlesdeleo46083 жыл бұрын
Oh, I have definitely heard of this state. Namely because of Tlaxcala’s history with the Aztecs. Montezuma himself described them as something for his warriors to toy with during the Wet Season. The Tlaxcaltecs were famed for their hatred of the Aztecs, as they would constantly abduct people from Tlaxcala for human sacrifice, and even go to war with them. This was why they allied themselves with Hernán Cortés and his coalition of Conquistadors and Totonac allies. Mind you, Cortés wrote in his accounts that he once fought the Tlaxcaltecs before allying with them, as they saw the Spaniards initially as enemies, the battle even resulted in the deaths of two of Cortés’ prized horses. However, the battle soon dragged into a draw, and it was clear that the Tlaxcaltecs couldn’t hold out against the Spanish forever. Impressed by the Spaniards’ prowess in battle, they decided to make peace, and an alliance was made. Even after the Spanish conquest, the Tlaxcaltecs retained their independence and status as allies of Spain for three centuries. Tlaxcala didn’t become a part of an independent Mexico until 1856.

I hope my comment is not insulting to anyone. To your comment that Mexican bakeries might not be as good as Japanese or Korean bakeries. This summer I had the fortune to visit japan 🇯🇵 and I tried many Japanese bakeries, the texture and execution is impecable, however, their pastries taste overwhelmingly eggy. If that’s your cup of tea go for it but I personally think Mexican bread is better. Specially sweet bread. Greetings!

Time to do the angel meditations brother. We all ignore the signals of the angels and don't connect with them.. They are trying to connect with you. Start studying the archangels and let them have even more fun with you this life time. That church is stunning!

Tlaxcala existe before Hernán Cortez and they were rebels against the Mexica´s triple alliance (Tenochtitlan, Texcoco and Tlacopan) city states. They were the ones that actually defeated Tenochtitlan for the Spaniards.

@@guillermosoberanes7245 absolutely. I've always thought that being Mexican must be brilliant in relation to travel as Mexico is like the whole world within one country. Unlike the UK which is cold and wet whereever you go. VIVA MEXICO!!

Sorry David, you are wrong, Tlaxcala (which is the native name for corn tortillas) was definitely there way before the Spanish even thought about crossing the ocean. The Spanish did not create this city. It was a City and even Nation long before Cortez even existed. Do better research man, Tlaxcalla was the city that helped Cortes because of their war with the Triple Alliance (todays Aztecs). The X is pronounced like 'sh', as if the name were Tlashcala, which is a hard sound for Spanish speakers to make.
@davidostrowski6795 жыл бұрын
I know the point about the people from Tlaxcala helping the Spanish, because I researched. THREE WEBSITES and my Airbnb host (who was born there) told me that information. What I meant was the city in it's current form did not exist (do you think the bullring was there before the Spanish?) 'Which is a hard sound to make for Spanish speakers' - hence why I didn't make it. Every video I watched on Tlaxcala by Mexicans pronounced it the way I did. I was in Tlaxcala for 10 days before this video. EVERYONE pronounces it with an X, announcements in shops, on the street etc. I even confirmed it with locals!! See here kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5azd3Vod815rtE. It isn't pronounced with a sh. You could say the same for Holbox, Atlixco and Taxco. Don't question my research when you have no idea what goes into making a video "The city did not exist during the pre Hispanic period but was laid out by the Spanish as a center of evangelization and governance after the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire" - TRAVEL MEXICO WEBSITE
