T-Boz helped write this song. It was a poem she wrote while in the hospital. After seeing a episode of Ricky Lake where the men were referring to woman as "fat pigs" and other disgusting things. Gave the poem to their producer Dallas to turn into a song. I love this song. I grew up with TLC being my favorite songs to listen to. I loved them. T-boz and her unique low, sultry voice, Left Eye and her adorableness, and Chilli with the ability to look sexy no matter what she wore or did. Way more to them than that obviously. Left Eye was an amazing person. So much more to her than I ever knew. i watched a documentary called "The Last Days of Left Eye" it's tons of self recorded type videos, edited to make a documentary. She had an incredible mind and soul. I highly recommend watching it. It changed my life.

My daughter is 15 and is going through this right now. Yesterday as I was leaving for work I happened to forget something. When I walked in my daughter had on enough makeup for 3 people. I couldn’t even recognize her. I wanted to yell at her because I thought she was being too “grown “ . Later on after work when I sat her down to talk about it she burst into tears and told me how she doesn’t feel pretty enough. I was stunned and shocked. Left Eye using the sign language was an original idea, she was always very innovative and ahead of her time.
