meh, it's because most tv shows like tlc chooses a path for someone to go. it's either the annoying route, or the sappy route. whichever is more fitting to their eyes, they'll add a few scripts for you. usually they'll have a few actual, real reasons not disclosed for tv drama purposes, or very occasionally the person will really be whiney and spoiled in real life.

Cub's Crew I can guarantee you that no condition will automatically make you 600 lbs. You need to eat excessively everyday for years on end to get to this point. Certain conditions and medications can cause weight gain but not on this level assuming you take in a reasonable number of calories for your height.

I'm glad that my life isn't so fucked up that I have to use food as a crutch. Of course I feel bad but in the end, she's responsible for her own weight and it's her fault that she got to this point. Sure, there could be some tramatic event or series of events that made her start to rely on food and that's out of anyone's conrol. However, a grown, mature adult wouldn't let these kinds of things control their lives completely. Just like with drugs, crime, self-harm, etc, it's absurd to both similtaiously shorten her life and inconvience others because of her lack of self-control and maturity. Despite that all, I really do pity Diana, because she actively resents becoming moribidly obese and at least somewhat acknowledges her role in that. She seems like a decent person, so its sad that she made herself this way.Thats just MY outlook though.

Your twisting my words, I never said you could grow out of trauma, I said you have to be mature to overcome it. While that may have sounded quite similar, you don't necessarily mature (characteristically) as you age. The literal definition of mature is to be fully developed however that could either be interpreted as to physically age or having reached an emotional/mental state similar to that of an adult. I've seen plenty of grown adults who regularly act like children, so while one of the interpretations of the word may be accurate; the other is certainly not. In this case, I am referring the former. Now that we have that out of the way, it takes a lot of work to mature as well. You see, getting over trauma in and of itself could very well be part of maturing.

I just watched the episode. She lost enough for the weightloss surgery; had some counseling to deal with issues; continued losing after her surgery; and at the episode end, was staying there in Houston for another year to continue losing and have skin surgery (when obese lose major weight, they have tons of excess skin that has to be removed). She went to Houston weighing 600, and she went down to ~350 in the first year. So she lost ~250. She’s a success, and probably since filming ended she’s a continued success. You’re welcome. Yeah, she’s generally a very nice person so I am happy that she succeeded. It is possible she will regain weight, but she was very good in following the rules with her family there to support her then still after they left to go home to Seattle while she remained in Houston to continue. So without her support structure, she still continued losing the weight and reaching goals set by Dr. Nowz. She’s probably going to lose most of the weight.

I think this lady is a really good person. She realizes and excepts what she has done to her body and she wants to do something about it. I respect that she actually excepts that she did this to herself and she can’t blame anybody else. Most people at this show are mean and rude and they blame everybody except them self. I really hope she does lose weight, bless her heart.

I saw this episode. Her story is that she was a normal weight most of her life until she was in her 20-30s. She was mollested when she was 12 and still chose to be skinny until she was 30. Oh and she was in the Air Force if that's relevant. I have no idea why they cut out her back story in this video I'm one of the few people who saw how pretty she was when she was younger not just because of her normal size back then. When you think about it she's right up there with Marla because she was also a normal weight half her life Edit: she lost 440 pounds

I'm 5'9 (176cm) tall and currently weigh 220lbs (100kg) . I've lost 13lbs (6kg) in 9 days by just stop eating junk food and soda, and only eating small portions. I got a dog not long ago, so now I walk a total of 2 hours everyday. I'm so happy that I finally can control myself, but I'm also starting to get anxious when I have to eat, I'm afraid of putting on weight again. Losing weight truly tastes better than any food.
