Back to the old format of videos, loving it! Thanks so much! "You've done messed up a-aron!" was missing in previous videos. :-)

Hey hey again! Hope you are well, it's been awhile! Yes, I am going back to the old format! I don't care if the YT algo punishes my videos with this format anymore, need to go back to what made my reviews enjoyable to film and edit. Now I just need to make sure A-a-ron stops messing up. You'd think after having a 3 year break that he'd be better!!

Great video and very thorough! I like how you explained the sound reflecting off buildings.. That explains why I sometimes have connections issues outdoors from a close distance. BTW your video quality looked great! Keep up the good work!

I wish they had a Sony hotshoe receiver, that would make it the killer product!

That definitely would really streamline this already tiny system. It could be in the cards for their future if they continue making interesting useful mics. I wasn't too impressed with their first microphones, but this Lark M2 really took me by surprise!

Try the Neewer/Fulaim. Around $130 and you can record on the mic.

I may try and get ahold of those for a future video. With the introduction of the LARK M2 I think there is now a new breed of category for how I differentiate between microphones. In my brain I am going to classify the LARK M2 "Micro Wireless" microphones while the others will something like "Mini Wireless" and then to top of the old school kinds that us AA battieres "Traditional Wireless". So I will most likely compare the Neewer and Fulaim against other Mini Wireless systems like the Rode wireless PRO and DJI Mic 2.

Hey Jason welcome back man, please more of these video. Hey have you tried this budget friendly mic? SYNCO Wireless Lavalier Microphone, G2(A2) 2.4G Dual Transmitter 48KHz 24Bit Lapel Mic 656FT 8H for Online Class Vlog Stream KZbin for Camera Smartphone Tablet .. looks like best option

I have not checked those out. I know the Synco's wireless systems have generally sounded great. Now that Hollyland has released what I would call "micro clip on mics" the Synco's would be classified as something else in my mind now. Something where its more about using the lapel rather than clipping it onto your shirt. In which case I would have to compare it against the likes of the RODE Wireless systems and DJI Mic 2

I was actually thinking about switching to these. I have the Rode pro and i have been extremely unhappy with they way that they record.

Oh? What problems have you ran into with the RODE PRO's? It's going to be interesting which mic's I will be taking with me to NAB next year. All Dependent on which camera I use. The DJI mic 2's crapped out immediately within the first use and I had to factory reset it at the hotel. I also ended up using my iphone a lot for my video coverage. At this moment in time, its looking like next year I will just rock the iPhone 15 pro max and this LARK M2.

@@TLDR_filmmaker It inconsistently records at different volumes. Sometimes it's loud and sometimes it's soft with no rhyme or reason. Plus, the float 32 is a lot of work due to the nature of my voice. I'm probably going back to the old way of doing audio. Even on gigs I've found that the quality has too much base. Not as much as the DJI, but enough where I don't want to fix it anymore in post. Hopefully I'll have the DJI pocket and the lark next year. The Sony worked last year but the YC Onion tripod was too heavy. I'll prob go back to my modified Ifootage tripod. It's much lighter.

Interesting. I'm not sure if I've really noticed with how I've used my RODE Pro's. I generally leave the Gain Assist on Dynamic. I don't usually use the 32-bit unless I have a reason to use that audio instead of the one recorded straight into my camera. Yea, for my voice I generally need to raise the high's a little bit. I don't like how the mic pushes my MIDS up. At least my ears don't like how that makes my voice sound haha.

I should probly check these out. I can't understand why so many people swear by the DJI mics, they sound so "muddy" to me. or, wait yeah I can see it. I just remembered what regular users consider good headphones, which also almost always sound incredibly muddy.

It definitely sounds muffled in the studio test. My guess is they probably sound a bit better outdoors where the bass of your voice thins out?

These are all trash because they don't have replaceable batteries. I don't care how good they sound, spending money on things that will eventually stop working within a couple years is a really bad trend and I wish people would stop supporting it.

Hey hey! It's been awhile! I agree about the battery issue. The problem is I think a battery company needs to come out with a standard micro battery that companies can implement into their designs. Like a super small and thin button battery or sorts. Until a company makes one, similar to how the 18650 is now standard, it's going to be a hard fight for a company to develop it without knowing if other companies will adopt it.

but mics with similar wireless capabilities with replaceable batteries cost at least x5 more (not to mention the size difference).. so for a beginner this makes much sense.. and modern lithium ion battery-health depends on how often you use it and charge them.. my 6.5-year-old phone could still hold decent charge. Also what is the after sales service situation with hollyland? would they replace batteries for you if you approach them after let say 4-5 years saying my mic doesn't hold charge?
