As long as Ukraine war lasts and many european countries want to get rid of dependence of russian gas and oil, it gives opportunities for US gas and oil industry to do business in Europe. Trump would not miss using that card to improve US economy.

I just love the fact that, three years on from this phase of the war in Ukraine beginning, Europe is still almost totally dependent on the US for its defence. We look completely inept and helpless. This is one thing I'm baffled people don't understand about Trump. His main drive is legacy and popularity. He wants more than just one page in the history books. I knew he wouldn't just ditch Ukraine immediately because it would look weak like Biden's botched pullout of Afghanistan. It's also why I'm confident there will be an American on the moon in less than 4 years. That's another bragging point he wants. I'm not saying he's doing this out of any sort of good will. It's all about boosting his ego and fame. Important but less flashy things will get neglected most likely.

The main reason why oil prices were low during trumps first term was that Trump boosted domestic production. US oil output went from 8 million barrels a day average in 2016 to 12 million barrels in 2019. Interesting that you completely disregarded the arms industry angle to this story. The war in Ukraine has been very good for US weapons producers. Whenever you see a story about the US donating arms to Ukraine, what they are in fact doing is sending old stocks to the war and replacing them with new built equipment (to the latest specification) in the US inventory. Much of the munitions sent are 20 or more years old and some will be near end of life and otherwise would have to be refurbished, replaced or decommissioned (with an associated cost) anyway. This actually both strengthens the US military and increases the capacity (and indeed jobs) of US manufacturers, but more than that: the vast majority of the actual budgetary spend involved is pumped into the US economy, not gifted overseas. US jobs building things in America: the thing that Trump wants to promote. Meanwhile, much of the equipment donated by other nations (regardless of whether originally American or Soviet in origin) is being replaced by further orders to American manufacturers. This including extremely expensive items such as aircraft and the high-end surface to air missiles used to shoot them down (which can cost sums which the average person would struggle to believe).

Americans, look around your house and tell me how much "Made in Russia" products you have, and then tell me if tarrifs are a credible threat. I bet Trump doesn't even know anything about the conflict despite pretending to be an expert.

Exactly. A deal being kind to Russia and getting the bare minimum that Ukraine should ever accept would be: All land back to Ukraine, Ukraine in NATO, handing over war criminals and reparations. Anything less than this is Trump being weak and trying to sell out Ukraine.

Deranged more like. Joe Biden has dementia. Donald Trump is lucid but erratic and irrational hence deranged. Joe Biden forgetful and gaffe prone was demented. The difference is about rationality and coherence

I told many of my Trump supporter friends, he won’t cut Ukraine aid. They all believed that campaign shit but geopolitics and national interest drives policy. The pentagon and American intelligence agencies will continue to educate Trump on what’s important.
