I like this channel, but I’m just curious why an almost 3 Million subscriber channel needs only $15k. Like that’s a small amount of cash, especially for someone who should make WAY more than that in a month. Especially with 10s of thousands dollars in equipment behind him/in his place. No hate, honesty just curious.

Hey dude. Totally understand the perspective. This has been a nearly two year battle and the channel has been fairly inactive during that time. The compounded effect of not working + medical bills + trying to sustain a team easily puts things into the $200-300K world. I let go of the team, office sold almost all gear to keep things a float. This was truly last resort and it burned my soul to ask. The biggest point of this video wasn’t asking for help for the fire and debt behind me. I know I can work hard and get out of it, I just needed this help to get from point A to point B

3:00 Holy shit, a similar happened to me. I was driving home from work, needed to take a left at a stoplight, but ... couldn't figure out how you turn left. I'm looking in that direction, I've driven this route hundreds if not thousands of times, but I can't figure out what actions I need to do to make my car go from here to there. The cars behind me are honking, I'm freaking out, I'm crying. Finally I just floor it and keep driving forward. I can barely see anything through my tears, but I finally turned right down a street, and then (pure lunacy) I did a series of right turns throughout the city until I got home, and then just sat in my car crying for a long time. My brain legitimately lost the concept of "turning left". It's absolutely insane that that can just happen.

Hey Jonathan. I have been living with Keratoconus for I don’t know how long. Impairment in vision is extremely frustrating until its treated. But I cannot imagine how you have managed to fight through the loss of memory and motor functions. I don’t think you’re gonna have to start from 0 when it comes to your KZbin career. You’ve been far ahead in the game than most KZbinrs who are still dabbling with random stuff to have an audience. You’re authentic! KZbin can never be what it has been without you. Start telling this story to people you know - you will find out soooo many people have had extremely unhelpful or even incapable medical professionals in their lives. I nearly died due to very similar story to Jonathan's where I just got passed around to different "specialists" who all misdiagnosed me. Once I got a referral to Mayo Clinic, they had my diagnosis in 24 hours and it only took that long because they had to wait for test results, the doctor pretty much knew what it was just from talking to me but needed to confirm. If I hear of a friend having medical difficulties beyond basic flu, cold, etc, I always tell them to get a second opinion (if they can afford it) or go somewhere that specializes in what you think your problem might be. Absolutely do not wait around if you are not getting answers from your local doctors - there's a good chance they don't know what they are doing.

@@usernameluis305 this is america. part of the issue is that doctors dont want to put their patients into debt and they have a lot of control over what tests are ordered. countries with universal healthcare have pipelines and tests where if you meet the criteria you get the MRI or X-Ray or whatever the diagnostic tool is.

I really know how you feel? I have keratoconus and I have terrible distortion in my left eye. Obviously I don’t have something as severe as you do, but I think I have a general understanding of what it feels like to not be able to see well no matter what you do.

As i listened to your video, it reminded me of how my patients feel after a concussion, when they describe being behind a brain fog. The eye issues generally are not picked up by family doctors/neurologist/optometrist. I'm glad that you did end up finding the right care, but for anyone who is struggling with similar issues, please look for a neuro optometrist as they have gone through further training and into this niche field.

Hey Jonathan, So sorry to hear you have been dealing with all this. Very happy to hear you are on the mend. The eye pain due to neck/nerve issues IS A REAL thing and it is sadly not well known so I am really happy you shared this (although I will also share that finding a chiropractor or PT who knows how to manage it is sometimes a challenge in itself). Also Love hearing how scleral lenses are helping! The doctors at Insight are great!!! So thankful you found them and that your vision rehab is coming along. One extra thing that could be looked into for corneal scarring could be topical losartan eye drops. They are still experimental at this point but I know many doctors who have found success with it. It will be a good thing to ask your eye doctors about if they have read much on it or if they have ever treated anyone with it. Either way, god bless and I look forward to your future videos on sclerals!

It took me 4 years before I found the right doctors who saw how bad I was suffering. 2 years later in 2022, I got the neck surgery I had needed since 2016 and am on a bi-weekly shot to help with my moderate/severe Ulcerative Colitis. So glad you were able to get the help you needed as quickly as you did. Now you just got to keep with it and I know you can.

That's crazy to hear the doctors didn't ask a MRI right away! I complained about consistent neck pain to my primary doctor here in Germany and he asked for MRI, Neurologist, Orthopedist (which asked me to do Physiotherapy) tight away. Happy you found the way to recovery Jonathan!

Hang in there Jonathan! I’ve had a long similar health journey, with trying to figure out what was the source of all of my conditions, which resulted in DOCK8 syndrome years and years down the line. Now I’m happily looking into a bone marrow transplant and finally can get some answers. God bless you!! You’re not alone!

My husband got shingles over one of his eyes just after he recovered from Covid, so he was blind in that eye. As he relied on his brain and eyes for work, we were relieved he was fine in a couple of weeks. Sorry that happened to you.

Man, I'm so sorry for your suffering.. I had a slipped disc at the bottom of my spine that burst. I've learned to walk again, but the nerve is badly damaged, so im in constant pain.. I know what nerve damage can do. Im so sorry bro. I've been close to losing my mind so many times.. Wow what a story! I recently had my own crazy situation happen in which my left eye started protruding out of my head very quickly for an unknown reason. After a couple of misdiagnosises (nowhere near as long as yours, lasted maybe a week or two), it was diagnosed as cancer. Thankfully, it was stage 1 and hadn't spread. I really do resonate what you went through and are currently going through. Hang in there Jonathan I have been a long time supporter of yours. Your strength is admirable.

Hey Man. Keep going. Your comment at the start of this video about a time machine so you could go ahead instead and see where you'd be a year on, is absolutely something I can relate to. Had my own health thing about 10 years ago, 1/1,000th of what you've been through but I relate to the darkness level or the HOLE as I called it.
