This has no relevance with the video but I just wanted to say you’re a great teacher sir , you’ve helped me a lot :)

Not Gonna Lie, This is the best teacher i have ever met in my life, Even though we did just AS-level Further Maths, HE IS THE BEST EVER.

The equation solver now works with non-linear equations too. Its pretty awesome.

Excellent introduction to a great calculator that I know you have championed many times before Jack. I love Casios , but I do hope Numworks make some in-roads into the UK market as I think their calculate warrants much more attention.
@TLMaths3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I really want to see the Numworks calculator start to appear at maths conferences. I'm hoping that if more colleges adopt it, the price might be brought back down again!

Very useful sir good job!! Really well explained!! Can’t believe you recorded this as part of a lesson. Madness!! Really happy for you!!

You have helped me a lot at the start of this year with argand diagrams you’re an awesome teacher 👌

Thanks Jack for the video. I would love to see calculator review videos by you of other calcators on the market. Bit like tech review videos.

Unfortunately some of them are quite expensive!

Is it worth the money over the cg50?
@TLMaths3 жыл бұрын
If you've bought the CG50, you probably won't be investing in the Numworks. If you don't have a graphical calculator and are thinking of buying one, I'd go for the Numworks. I find the CG50 very clunky.
@mathboy10663 жыл бұрын
@@TLMaths I don't have a graphics calculator at the minute, I use the classwiz in all of my teaching videos. It seems awesome compared to the CG50.

Do I have to do UK A-Level Further Maths to attend this? I took AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, and AP Computer Science A before I attended uni. I got B.S. in Mathematics anyway.

I don’t understand what you mean? I’m demonstrating a calculator you can use, I’m not introducing an examined course.

completely off topic! I am struggling with learning trigonometry as I can only do Pythagorean Theorem. do you have any advice on how to use trigonometry on a Cartesian Plane? Thank you so much for all your videos aswell, very very helpful!

Do you mean using SOHCAHTOA? Try E1-04 and E1-05 from here: sites.google.com/view/tlmaths/home/a-level-maths/full-a-level/e-trigonometry/e1-trigonometry

could you do graph transformations in radians between say 0 and 2 Pi and then if it ever came up just sketch that on the paper
@TLMaths3 жыл бұрын
It’s one of those topics where you can’t rely on it coming up in just one specific way. So that if you’re confident and able to deal with every eventuality, that probably means you’d only be using the calculator as a checking tool anyway.

I wish I saw this before buying a CG50 😭
@TLMaths3 жыл бұрын
How do you find the CG50?
@JJFHNREHJEDK3 жыл бұрын
@@TLMaths It's a solid calculator but the menus can be quite confusing when finding things like statistical functions - and I have found that graphing functions can be quite unreliable sometimes, so you have to be really careful with syntax - plus it's crap at plotting polar functions. It doesn't have things like the argand diagram thing on this calc, which would save time in exams.
@TLMaths3 жыл бұрын
The menus are horrible - it hasn't been designed from the ground up like the Numworks. Maybe you could sell your calculator on and with the money pick up a Numworks?
@JJFHNREHJEDK3 жыл бұрын
@@TLMaths yea thanks for the advice I was thinking about that. Do you know if Numworks calcs are approved for A-level?
@TLMaths3 жыл бұрын
Yes they're fully approved and JCQ compliant.
@Sheena1234ization3 жыл бұрын
Please continue to feature the cg 50 in your videos, it’s probably the 2nd most popular calculator
@TLMaths3 жыл бұрын
I’ve never used the CG-50 in any of my videos, and I personally wouldn’t choose to (not a fan). I use the fx-991ex Classwiz. Casio’s stranglehold on the graphical calculator market deserves a knock as I don’t find them very user friendly

Hi jack can you store values in this calculator for a numerical method like simpsons rule
@TLMaths2 жыл бұрын
You can store values, yes, but you probably just want to calculate the values so that you can write them down in the formula, and then evaluate.
