Reducing the amount of trail in the front axles will make the steering more responsive. I would give it a shot if you havent already. I messed with it and made my car too twitchy and responsive. I cant remember the setting i landed on i believe its the 3mm trail insert. Had a nice balance of responsiveness but not so twitchy its hard to make small corrections.

dude you could maybe add some positive steering exponential to get the Losi to feel more like the yokomo

That is the easiest way to do it, but I also wanted to play around with set up to know that the chassis can be tweaked enough to be a competitive platform on any surface. I say it can; just needs some time to dial in, since one of the fast guys at 702 is running a 5.0 and is running some of the fastest laps on 17.5. Also, I wanted to learn what the trail setting did on the TLR as its pretty unique to the 22.

I worked with the Trail setting to the middle and went from the kit spindle to nr.4 ( most aggressive) also After all that changes ....there is no vorne speed in Relation to the Xray 2020. I sell my 2 tlr ang get me an Xray. It s the way to go...believe it. Or schumacher

The kit for the diff isnt out but all of the parts for the gear diff are out. Comes out to like 45$ for the parts. 4 different part numbers you have to order.

Thanks, will look into that. I believe the AC is just hitting selves so parts are going to start being available soon. Thanks again

@@TDKRepair Was digging through my manual and the parts list has the gear diff listed as an option. here is the part number TLR232088 and its only 27.99!

What kit did you start with? It could have brought the carpet version, right?

Out of the two setup sheets which one was the car run with? I see the settings do vary quite a bit between those sheets even especially camber links etc

If you're running a fan, what size are you using?
@TDKRepair4 жыл бұрын
30mm Motor fan. Most common and very effective. I run the protek RC fan or the WTF fans.

What is ackerman?
@bgymr97225 жыл бұрын
OK, figured out ackerman, what is trail? What did you do to get more steering with the ackerman? I imagine you added ackerman.
@TDKRepair5 жыл бұрын
@@bgymr9722 Yeah I changed to the #4 ackerman arms to get some more mid corner steering and the trail adjustment is pretty unique to the TLR. So it is on the "longest" setting 4 out of the box, by changing it to 3 or 2 it shortens the the position of the axle to be more in center with the steering axis. Which in turn make it respond a little quicker so it gives it more initial steering. Hopes this helps as TLR doesn't really explain it in the manual. I only learnt by trying it out on the track!

@@TDKRepair I'm not following where the trail is still. I'll try those arms. Can you edit in what you did to make it feel better? Should be an informative video.
@TDKRepair5 жыл бұрын
bgymr So trail is adjusted by changing the pills that are on the front axles. The look kinda like the diff pills but they go on the steering hub and the axle goes through it. They’re installed on page 19 and shown in more detail on page 20 of the manual. Hope this helps

@@TDKRepair Ahh respect. I'm the guy that was there with the 22 4.0 from PA probably when you were filming this. I couldn't run in the Saturday event because my car broke. I'm interested in the tire sauce, i'm going to place an order.
