Once went to a steam rally at Chatsworth. The problem, discovered during the event, was not the river bridge weight limit but the two unprotected 8 ft water pipes which run underground from Ladybower to Long Eaton through the estate on the house side of the river. Over which many engines and transporters had crossed. and had to find another way out.

I've done this route before from Sheffield. Really convenient that it takes you all the way up to the House - good for kids with the adventure playground, petting zoo etc.

I like this route. When I went to Chatsworth, we followed the 218 on the way by car. It's a great bus. Thanks for posting

Happy memories of a beautiful place. Back in the 70s I lived in Calver and worked in Sheffield, before emigrating to Australia for work reasons. Bakewell was my favourite shopping place.

You really do get the best views when you are able to sit at the front of a double decker or at the front of a high rise single decker.

This service certainly goes round the houses to get out of Shefffield. I made it about half an hour from the bus station to Totlay

I thought the same. It's silly how it cuts through The Moor to Cemetery Road and then goes down Abbey Lane later on. It might as well go straight up Ecclesall Road.

@@Martin-88 it might be to provide a bus service there, another example is running down Psalter Lane to replace the old 4 and 4a services

A good example for the need to have a law stating that cyclists must travel single file at all times. The bus and any traffic following in this shot was limited to twenty miles an hour or less because of the cyclists.

They should rebrand TM Travel into TrentBarton and brand the buses to advertise this line like Stagecoach do with their Lakes buses and the immaculate gold fleet. TM Travel looks wishy washy broke down

I agree, The livery is so drab. It was so much better before Wellglade bought the company.

No offence to you lot up north but I always remember this saying from a kid “it’s grim up north” And it always looks it Sorry
@Martin-882 жыл бұрын
How the hell does a national park look grim? There are plenty of towns/cities down south which are just as bad too. Slough, Luton, Basingstoke, Harlow, Portsmouth...

@@Martin-88 Right. I live in Portsmouth and I was thinking how much more beautiful that bus ride is compared to anywhere down here
@Martin-882 жыл бұрын
@@rosskiddle9113 To be fair, I'd say Portsmouth is definitely the best place out of the towns I mentioned above. The bus ride in this video goes through south west Sheffield which is actually very affluent and is right on the edge of the Peak District. Have a look at Dore and Whirlow on street view and you'll see what I mean. Not long ago Dore was ranked the second richest area in the country after Kensington in London.

I'm a southerner but this was one of the best UK bus rides I've seen on KZbin. Better than any bus route in the South. Even the leafy suburbs of Sheffield rival those of Bournemouth and Brighton. The real problem up there is the noticeably weaker sunlight at all times
