I can’t get over the fact that the big ass palm trees are destructible and they don’t even slow you down. In this game you can basically drive trough anything. I remember in the earlier NFS games if you hit a tree yo will come to a dead stop.

Also.. you slowed down in the race after "tweaking" your car because you missed the checkpoint, not because you went offroad (although that didn't help). The game registered it as a miss. You went outside the gate, so it slowed you down.
