This was cool to watch. Horn was my instrument in high school before I went back to clarinet in college. Can you explain how the Texas all state works? I always see this 5A, 5B label….what do they all mean? Are some higher ranked than others?

Thanks! Yeah of course, in Texas we rank high schools based on size from rank 1A-6A, 1A being the smallest and 6A the biggest. This was the 5A band, so most everyone here was from a 5A sized high school. But, if your a smaller ranked school, say a 4A school, you can choose to go up a track and compete with the bigger schools like 5A and 6A.
