Why are the triplets harder than the sixteenths 😭
@mmababysitting2 ай бұрын
i personally love triples and think there easy it’s probably because i play alot of triplets and 6/8 and 12/8 things

oddly enough, this etude specifically i was able to do the 16th note variation easier than i was able to do the 8th note section. this years etudes are a lot easier compared to last years for sure, really happy about that but theres gonna be a lot more competition evidently
@yatesfam502226 күн бұрын
same expecialy because i played the mello for 5months without using my horn so it was hard to get my fingerings right!!
@curdust26 күн бұрын
@yatesfam5022 i mean technically all mello fingerings also work on horn as alternate fingerings but clearly better to use regular fingerings

What are these auditions for, exactly? I've read about tmea online but its not clear, I only see to broad and generic information (Non-us here)
@ScottLegerHorn3 ай бұрын
Most states in the US have an organization that auditions the best music students in high school once a year for an honor band. Texas is the largest and probably most difficult to join

oh no i live in TEXAS! its so hard as a freshmen because yk we play 2 instruments and i forget french horn fingers sometimes when practicing but they still come out right but out of tune🥲
@Someone2464-Ай бұрын
The auditions work like this first the TMEA release the etudes late July. Then you have until early December to prepare these etudes. Then each region of Texas(Texas has 33 regions) has an audition and usually the top 6 depending on your conference will take the top 6 musicians. Then in the first week of January you have area auditions(Texas has 8 areas) they audition usually taking the top 5 or 6. Then they go on to TMEA all-state.

I think this is the hardest one.
@curdust2 ай бұрын
personally the 2nd one is the hardest since it goes down to that really low A and you have to do a slurred chromatic run back up to E on the staff
@mmababysitting2 ай бұрын
the chromatic part is the easiest part but i suck at rhythms so thats probably why i like 16ths and triples so much cs there the easiest to count😭
@nismo2914 күн бұрын
this is lowkey the easiest imo

How tf are the euphonium/ trombone etude easier that French horn?!?
@spazz79572 ай бұрын
Person auditioning for all-state here, what are some other etudes that would help build my chops for these etudes? (like practicing etudes; I find #20 out of Klings 40 characteristics pretty good to help with arpeggiated pieces (similar to this one))
@mjojco3 ай бұрын
I'm guessing in high school you were all state horn soph, junior snd senior right? Probably would have been as a freshman too but lkely made area.
@starwarsjunkie77762 ай бұрын
Too simple this year. Kids will have to have to push the tempo on this one to really stand out and add a lot more of their own flair to it.

No surprise here- It's his horn and costs what- 3 or 4 times what the Verus horn is. A pro can make any horn sound good tho.
