My doctor did this twice to my jaw in his office. I can only open my mouth 1/4 of the way. The problem is on the left side. When he put the overpressure force on my jaw to open my mouth the entire office became aware of the pain involved. He then told me to rake a deep breathe and he did it again. The pain was over the top. It allowed me to open my mouth further but it was temporary. He told me repeat this procedure at home. I tried it but it was far too painful to continue.

Kindly seek help of a good dentist and ask him to provide you a customized mouth guard to be worn at night. After wearing the t for sometime, the TMJ strain will come down. Then seek help of a Physiotherapist if required
